    Default Newbie!

    Hey All =)

Juss joined this today after much searching for a decent site let rip on everything thats bugging me about pcos and other daily issues! All teh other sites seem to 'formal' and too much pcos orintateed (yeah...tis not spelled right! lol)

Got diagnosed by the doc a year ago in May....well when i say diagnosed i mean i looked up everythign ns aid "Do you think I could have Pcos?" he finally agreed!

I dont suffer greatly from the side effects apart from the whole weigh thing...im 5'3 n weigh 19 stone butttttttttttt i have been getting my bum in shape and have lost 4lbs as of last week!

another side effect ive noticed thats getting bad is my hair loss. Anyone else get this?? my hair is falling out in handfuls on my pillow in the morning!

Anyways, would be great to hear from folk who are all in the same boat as me and who also would liek to have jsut a general moan =D

    Welcome cyster!

Great job with the weight loss! I'm working on that too.

I have hair loss too, not as bad as you are describing, but enough that my hair looks thin on top. I've been shedding gradually since puberty. I don't remember my hair falling out when I was on metformin, that might be something to ask your doc about. Met also helped me lose weight.

Glad you're here cyster. You won't find us too formal here.. just speak your mind!

    Hugs

    WELCOME, scottish_chick88!
Yes, this is a good place to have a "general moan!" I like the way you put that.

I suffer from hairloss, too and to me it's one of the worst symptoms of PCOS. I also have to work twice as hard as other people to lose weight, but wanted to congratulate you on losing those 4 pounds! Did you follow any particular diet or exercise program?

Anway, I just wanted to welcome you!

Welcome to the best site ever, okay I don't actually know that but I do know it's been a great help to me.

I was starting to get the hair loss thing in the last year, I'd drop a clump every brushing and every shower, but the pregnancy seems to have reversed it now not much more than a few strands come out and I've noticed a lot of new growth. I just wish I knew if it was the prenatal vitamins or the baby hormones because I'd like it to stick around after the baby.

    minkakross,
I too had my hair loss stop completely when I was pg, but sadly enough it did start up again after my children's births. However (and hopefully this will make you feel better) it never started falling out as badly as it had before pregnancy. I think pregnancy kind of resets things for me hormonally.

    Congrats on your pregnancy!
