Arrow What if no AF after Clomid?

I'm so freaking excited to start Clomid this upcoming cycle! I've been instructed to take 50mg on days 5-9 of my cycle, which seems to be pretty common. My only concern is, what if I don't O, will I be getting AF? I never had any problems with ovulating and getting periods until a year ago... before that, I was on a 28 day cycle, like clockwork, and definately ovulated (I used to get SEVERE O pain) so hopefully a low dose is enough... but now, I only get periods if I'm on BCP or induce with provera. Will taking Clomid DEFINATELY cause a period, even if I don't O?

I wouldn't count on it. If you don't ovulate, then your body doesn't think it needs to have a period. Whoever gave you the prescriptioin for Clomid should have also given you a Provera Rx so if the Clomid doesn't cause you to "o" then you can induce AF and start your next cycle of Clomid at the next dosage.

    Good luck!

i had to take a HUGE old dose of provera 7/7 TDS 5mgs, to induce a bleed! well that lovley old thing hit me 2day! lol anyway im due to start to start clomid tomorrow now im cd2-6 i was told that the bleed with make body think its working then the clomid throws everything at body to make it ovulate so as it would all make u ovulate (IN THEORY) you would have an AF (if not preg obv!!) as an egg would be released - that is how my stupid gp explained it i know thats not 100% xx

im bieng given an u/s for follicle tracking on cd14 are you being offered anything such as this? xx

After my first round of clomid, I had to take Provera to induce AF just like sparks had posted, bc no follicles grew. I only ever got AF when taking bcp otherwise AF was a no-show. So after that round of clomid, a dose of Provera to bring on AF, I did another round of clomid, which worked BTW!! Lots of luck to you!
