    Default Yasmin and Met combo???

Hi, I have a question I hope hasnt been asked too many times, if it has been, please just direct me to the proper place.

For people that have PCOS and are *not* TTC, should they take a combination of BCP (Yasmin) *AND* Metformin? Or is just taking the BCP's alone enough?

    Thanks

I would say to take both. I took yasmin and met for about 5 months to try to loose some weight before TTC. The met really helped. BUT if you don't want a pregnancy right now, do NOT stop taking the BCP obviously... I got pg the first month I stopped. HTH.

    Default I do

I don't take yasmin, but I do take ortho. And met. I took metformin for months and never got a period, so my gyno and I decided to put me on BCP. My endochronologist always said I shouldn't be on both, and gave some reason I didn't understand...turns out, it was for his own little research project!

My mother and I found a new doctor, although I haven't had my appointment with her yet. However, when my mom went in she asked the Dr about me, and the Dr said that the combination was a good idea for my age group (I'm 20). I don't know any more details than that because they didn't go into any kind of in-depth convo about me, but it is safe and, in my case, the best plan of attack. BCP is not enough, because it doesn't really fix you, it just masks the problems.
