Thumbs down dry eyes on met???

Just curious, cause my contacts have been dryin my eyes out faster and faster ever since I went on met. Is this something I can "blame" on the met, or is it just my body being wacky (as usual)?

    TIA!!!

I have heard that you have to increase you fluid intake on met, so I suppose that's possible your eyes would get dry if you don't drink enough water.

I drink about 14-16 cups of water a day.

I'm at home, all day, every day, so I can get ice water alllll the time. I don't even drink tea...and no coffee or caffeinated/carbonated stuff, either.

    That's what I don't "get"....

    It's just frustrating, is all.

    Thanks, though!!

The same thing happened to me, only I did not make the conenction to the Met. I saw my eye doctor, who suggested that I increase my Omega 3 intake and add Fish Oil capsules.

After about two weeks, I noticed an improvement.

I take 3600 mg of fish oil and 3000 mg of flax oil. Does your multi have both flax and fish oil?

    Yep.

Both, as well as some others.

Hopefully it will really start working soon, as far as keeping me from feeling like a dried out old prune...

    LOL

I suppose anything is possible, it seems almost all meds list "dry mouth, nose or eyes" as a possible side-effect. As an optometrist, I've never heard of met being a big concern for dry-eyes or problems with contacts.

    Interesting connection you made though.
