    Default Bioidentical hormones

Have any of you ladies had success (or not) with bioidentical hormones? I would think that if you had your hormones balanced that hair loss would subside. I just got off of the pill and am having a major shed.

I have done Progesterone support in forms of NPC & Prometrium, days 14 until AF shows. I like real progesterone enough--calming & doesn't make me crazy or fat like the fake stuff. I wanted to add a low dose natural estrogen & take Prometrium every day of the month, but no doc would touch it. Only the synthetic pill, no thanks.

Never wrestle with a pig. You both get dirty, and the pig likes it.

I asked both my endo and my ob-gyn if I could take a low dose estradiol (which Dr. Redmond says is bioidentical) and Prometrium every day of the month. They agreed it would not be a problem. I find the Prometrium has a calming effect also...I told both doctors I feel better on the Prometrium than I felt off of it. I just started the Prometrium 10 days ago, so I will let you know if it helps with my hair loss, which is my major symptom.

Suzanne Somers has a new book out called Ageless where she interviews more doctors about bioidentical hormones. I would like to buy it.

    P.S. I am in perimenopause.
