    Default yasmin experience?

Has anyone notices a long AF when starting Yasmin? Mine is at 12 days now, very light of course now and this is my first pack of it.

No, I love Yasmin. AF starts 3 days after the end of the active pills and lasts 4 days. I can't wait to go back on it, or maybe Yaz. Maybe it will be different on your next pack.

    New Year's fitness Celebration:
In 2006 I cycled approximately 1800miles, hiked up 4 mountains, took a walking tour of San Francisco, hiked in 4 california national parks, swam in a pool with palm trees on my birthday, hiked and biked along the Oregon Coast, climbed to numerous breathtaking waterfalls, explored a gold mine, a silver mine and a cinnabar mine, and walked a fantastic loop along frozen streams and icecicle waterfalls at Opal Creek in winter.

No, I am the opposite. My AF on Yasmin is 1/2 - 1 day, very light but I have been on it for 5 years.

I started Yasmin Sunday the 15th of October. I have had spotting all week, my boobs are sore and am very emotional.

Yes, I do remember being very emotional and crying a lot when I first started on Yasmin. It should go away in a month or 2.

I have been a little edgy lately, I didn't think to link it to the yasmin but maybe so. And yeah, never have my breasts been so sore >.<

And now today is the 16th day of AF... >.>

update: my reproductive endo appt was yesterday...after about one month my ovaries have shrunken down to almost normal size. she thinks i am responding well to the YAZ...(i thought i was on yasmine...but its YAZ...lower estrogen i guess)....i have one pill left and i started to get a little blood (sorry if this is TMI but...it was brownish)...she gave me an internal ultrasound and said my lining is real heavy and i am probably going to have a heavy period (i have been leaking this brownish stuff every since{TMI?})...she is waiting on my record from other doctors that tested my insulin/glucose to decide if she wants to put me on MET....but she said i need to see a nutrition councelor (i guess i have to start on that low-GI type diet)...my insulin is actualyl a "7" which is in normal range...so i guess i wont be put on the MET until i want to try and have kids....

so what i can say is - of all the doctors i have seen...none have been as sympathetic as i needed them to be except this one(i saw a primary, a endo, a naturaopathic, and a gyno)...she is fertility and reproductive endo... let me know if you are in the CT area and want her name and number

only thing now is will i be able to stand the time it will take to adjust to the YAZ with out wanting to cry all day everyday...i am thinking about asking to be put on an antidepressant...i was depressed before...but now...im not handleing anything anymore...just want to hide in my house...

Cool Shortest Period ever, sorest breasts ever, and depression

That's my Yasmin experience. My periods usually last 8 days. But on yasmin it only lasted 4. which was cool. My breasts were extremely sore on Yasmin, more sore than on other BCP's (and I've tried most of them). Breasts even grew a lump in them, that subsided (along with the increase in size) during the week off pills.

I've always had depression on pills with Progesterone in them since my Depo-Provera incedent. Yasmin was very bad for depression for me.

But as I have come to understand. Absolutely everyone responds differently to medication. Usually if you can find someone with a similar reaction, it is very possible that you will share the same Set of side effects as a whole. (not always, but often).

    Smile Another thought for Cindy

I'm just wondering Cindy, if this 12 day period is the first period you have had in a while.
If so; it is possible that your body has built up quite a thick uterus lining and therefore it would make sense that this period would take longer to shed that lining.

    Just a thought.

If not, then perhaps Yas just has that side effect for you.

Oh, hmm..that's true ^_^() I hadn't thought about that. My last AF before yasmin was in July 2005. So that might explain it..heehee. But, actually I started my second month with Yasmin now and AF finished like it was supposed to ^_^ So, I guess the first month was my adjustment period.

I don't think it's just because you haven't had a period in a year. I had had one about 38 days before starting Yasmin and mine was also a month long.
