anyone else has acne consisting of really deep painful bumps that are huge?
YES. not just my face. also on my inner thighs. it is very painful, even to look at it. i have sooo many scars. i just wish something would make them go away
I have these, too. The derm. at the place where I get microderm got be a prescription for Duac, which seems to help a lot. The drawback is it's not covered by most insurance, so it's expensive, and the tube expires after one month. Other than that, I haven't found much that isn't very extreme to help with it.
these things take about a month to go away. Last month, I had one on my cheek. Now, I have one on the crease of thigh and vagina (talk about pain).
I get them too...what's worse is my supposed best friend seems to think it will make me feel better by naming them after volcanoes or mountains.![]()
mneaia - You're lucky that the Duac seems to be working for you! I've tried everything...even laser acne treatment. After spending quite a few hundreds of dollars on the laser treatment, the dr found out I had pcos and said that the laser treatment wouldn't help...go figure.
What I don't understand is when i was on bc the acne was worse! I don't know if it was the type on was on or what...but since I've been off and TTC, it's gotten a little bit better. I still get the huge cystic ones about a week before my cycle.
Best wishes to all!
get your doctor to prescribe solodyn. its new out..but i swear by it. its like $500 a month w/out insurance, but the drug company will cover that, or they should. I end up paying $35 after the drug company picks up the rest of my tab..my copay w/ insurance is $140. Ive been on it for 3 months, and my face is clearer than it ever has been. I had horrible horrible cystic acne on my face, to the point that id raither be full of scars from making it drain than deal w/ the pain they caused. The only downside to it..I could always tell when it was the time of the month..because Id break out worse than ever...and since Im not regular anyway that was a help lol. Oh well..Id raither be clearBut seriously, ask your doctor about it. You may need to see a derm for it...but I love it.
Well, microderm has also worked for me, but that's pretty extreme, and it's really just a temporary solution. I've also tried chemical peels, which I don't think are effective enough weighed against the inconvenience of them.
Oh, and some people mentioned deep bacne--I just got this soap by Neutrogena that's a sort of body scrub (they also have a wash) specially for acne on the body, and it actually seems to work a bit. It has sacylic acid in it, like most face washes for acne. I still have some acne spread around, but after about a week and a half I'm not getting the breakouts I normally get.
I have bad cystic acne too :-(
When I'm consitantly on Met, and not non-compliant, my face clears. I'm tired of all the scars.... and right now I have a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge mountain on my chin. I look like the wicked witch of the west :-(
Has anyone tried Dalacyn-T topical solution.
I swear by it; you only use it twice a day to start and then once a day (when it's under control @ night before going to bed.) Its an topical solution (and it lasts at least a month) and costs only 26 dollars (Canadian) unless you have health coverage;you will need a perscription from your doctor, though, and i don't know if it is okay to use if you are pregnant . but it does work; i haven't had a really big cystic zit for a couple of years; i get the occasional pimple with that time of the month; but not the way it used to be.
Try it; it's much cheaper than anything else I've tried and it really works! I also use neutrogena soap / for acne prone skin and am on Diane 35 and met.
