Pin Sized Red Dots on skin?

Over the last month I have noticed pin sized red dots all over my stomach, arms and the tops of my thighs. It literally looks like someone poked me with a pin, and I started to bleed then stopped and the blood will not wash away. Has anyone else had this? I talked to my GP about it, and he had no clue. He looked at it and figured it was a rash of some sort that would go away. Well, that was February 20th... its March 5th they are still here. Sometimes they look bright red other times they are really dark. They started on my stomach and ended up everywhere else. The only stuff online I could find freaked me out because it points to liver failure, lukemia, and off the wall diseases and such.
I called my Gastro to talk to his nurse they are supposed to call me back. I have Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and an ALT levels of over 180.. not that I know what that means.

If anyone else has had these or knows anyone that has had them... please let me know. Any docs on here.... please advise. I am really freaking out.

Maybe do a search on keratosis pilaris? It's common on the arms and tops of thighs although I'm not sure about the stomach. It's benign but annoying and unsightly. If you can, try to get in to see a dermatologist.

It looks like petechiae. I found that on wikipedia this morning; that is when I got concerned. I am not sure if that is it exactly... but that is definitely what it looks like.

No I have keratosis pilaris on the back of my arms. This is something totally different. It is not rough, not raised up or anything. It looks like I am bleeding, but I am not.

I have petechiae everywhere. My doctor has never been concerned, although I have. I now think it's a symptom of a food allergy/intolerance I may have.

Both my husband and I get those every so often. I never thought anything of it.. until I read the wiki link! I only get maybe one or two and not that often. They never caused me any issues in the past, but after reading that link, I might look into it a bit more..

I wouldn't be so concerned except for it can be contributed to low platelets levels... which is often attributed liver disfunction (my mom had low platelets all the time... also had Auto Immune Liver Disease... Like Hepatitis just non transmittable and thought to be hereditary). I have never had food allergies... I have not tried any new foods or changed detergent or anything in the last well probably year. I am supposed to have a liver biopsy this year... I just know that when my doctor calls he is going to want to see me. I have had so many problems lately I just don't want to find out something else. Heck it has been my whole life. Nothing new... different day... same ole crap. Just wish one day I could go to the doctor and have them say... "Nothing is wrong with you... you are as healthy as a horse." Never gonna happen... Unless Divine Intervention occurs.

I have had my petechia for 3 years, seen a dermatologist and my physician and they both told me it's unrelated to blood tests, my 1 allergy (latex), pcos, hypothyroidism, and liver function test... They don't seem concerned at all- so I thought it might just be something that happens to some people and on top of everything else I have... I was lucky enought to get that too Now my curiosity has intrigued me to do some investigation- I'll have to keep you guys posted.

I got them too (last summer) and found out that it is an aspirin sensitivity. Once I stopped taking the baby aspirins (I was following Dr. Oz) they disappeared.

Are you taking any type of blood thinner? Aspirin? Vit E? Prescription?

This is the sensitivity/allergy I think may be causing them on me. It's a sensitivity to salicylates. INteresting...

oh how interesting. I have them on my stomach and thighs and never thought much of it.

I get these. It seems like someone told me once that they were related to circulation. ??? Anyway, I have a few that are always there and some that come and then dissapear. I mostly notice them on the inside of my lower arm.

I have little red dots on my stomache and it was diagnosed as heat rash. To help it go away you're supposed to take vitamin a & c and take frequent showers.

My best friend's sister had these and was diagnosed with something called ITP for short. I am going to give this my best shot, but I think the correct name for it is: Idiopathic Thrombocytepenia or ITP for short. Please look it up and see if it resembles this, because what you are describing sounds identical to what she had.
