    Default PCOS in sister??

    Hi there ladies,

I have a question. I have PCOS, diagnosed last year after not having a period off the pill for months and months and months. My younger sister went off the pill in December and has not had her period yet. She is slim, has no facial nor excess body hair (not like me the fur-ball).

She is 27. Her periods were wacky when she was a teen (got them every 2 weeks) and excrutiatingly painful and heavy which is why she went on the pill at age 18.

My periods as a teen simply stopped around age 17 or so... which is why I went on the pill. They were rarely painful but were heavy. Like I said - she is not hairy anywhere she shouldn't be. Okay, bushy eyebrows...

So we had different symptoms. I am wondering if she could have PCOS too. What do you think? I know none of you are doctors, but perhaps some thoughts and opinions might help. She is in denial and ignoring her absent periods, whereas I am freaking out with worry for her... since I don't want her to have this stupid affliction that I've got.

    Thanks.
    Nat

There are 5 types of PCOS and no two women seem to share the exact same set of symptoms.

My sister and I have both have it. She was diagnosed first but I started the symptoms first. There are made different levels of PCOS and nobody is really ever the same.

I was thinking endometriosis might also be a possibility. Could be both, too.
