    Default Natural Progesterone Cream...

    Hello! I'm new.

I came off the pill april 06. Since then my periods became all over the place. Acupuncture (from sep 06) helped mine become regular. I haven't been diagnosed with anything, but I searched for npc and it came up with the link for this site.

There is a possibility I will have endometriosis-long story but my mum had it and I seem VERY similar to how she was at my age. Anyway, I do realise this is for pcos. I may well have it, but dr's just say its normal to have irregular periods at my age.

Basically I started natural progesterone cream 2 cycles ago. Since acupuncture I started to ovulate. My second cycle I on the cream, I didn't ovulate ( I had been for 5months)....and it looks like my 3rd cycle will be the same. I am using emerita paraben free. From day 14-28. Should I adjust the dose?

Some are telling me to continue from day 14, others say wait til ovulation-but that could be ages away. I'm really confused. I don't why its stopped me ovulate, when I managed too on the first cycle.

I hope you don't mind me using this forum.

    Hi,

I am using Source Naturals Progesterone Cream ( Vitamin Shoppe) and Im not sure if it helped me or not because a few days after starting AF came, and I believe I ovulated, but not sure if this was from the NPC or the Vitex I was taking for 1 month. My usage directions say use for 14 days and stop of 7. So I am doing that now but unfortunately I havent been using it long enough to really say. Im pretty sure that Vitex is what helped me and I its been a long time since AF and O. Sorry I could not help more

Hi Jen- Welcome to the boards!
Just wondered why you started the progesterone- did a Dr. do bloodwork and recommend you start using it? If it's whacking out your cycle, maybe going back to just the acupuncture would help. You could also go see another Dr and get a second opinion and have them do some testing- I don't know how old you are, but you don't have to just take the answer that "it's normal to have irregular periods at your age"
I also take bioidentical progesterone on days 12-28, but still am not having regular AFs. Hang in there!

I purchased progesterone cream and I have read that you take it after O to AF comes.

Depending on why you are taking NPC you can take it from CD 7 to CD 28 or you can take it from O till 14 days past O. I think that the idea with taking it from CD 7 to 28 is to stop O. Maybe that is why you are not Oing. NPC will not make you O but it will make you get AF.

Thanks for the replies. Sorry I wasn't aware that people had replied, everytime I checked before there was nothing. I will try and get tested for pcos. The cream does help in many ways but because I'm not willing to wait till I ovulate (who knows how long it could be) I am going to try lowering the dose for now. See how I go from there. I do have periods but its weird. Like last time I had a a withdrawal bleed which was brown (after stopping the cream after 2 weeks) and then 2 weeks later my temps were still high and I had a real bleeding but no ovulation.

I'm 20 and yes I don't want to hear its normal at my age, which is what my Dr tried to fob me off with. I will probably have to beg for a scan or something because they are less likely to check me if I'm not ttc.

I started the cream because of my depression really, which I have been informed by a friend that if I do have pcos then it is likely it is the pcos that is causing the depression.

Just wondering how you work out when to use the progesterone cream if you're not actually having a proper cycle. My last period was February! So that would put me at about cd139!

I'm currently taking one 850mg met tablet morning and night - so that's 1700mg a day. I've been on this dose for about the last six weeks and about six weeks before that on just one 850mg tab. No luck yet. I have been on this dose before for a significant period of time a few years ago - but because I was on the pill I couldn't really tell if it was having any influence on my cycle.

And Jen870 - don't worry, I was diagnosed when I was 18 (I'm now 30) and have been on met since I was 20 years old. So 20 certainly isn't too young to be worrying about irregular cycles!

It says count til day 14 after a period-day 14 of that cycle and start it then. I am getting cervical fluid this month...yay! lol so either the maca is working, the cream is settling or the lowering of the dose has helped.
