Why can't I upload a new avatar?

I have tried everything. I have even made my photo so small. But it still tells me that it is too large. I'm checking the size on my computer and it's under the size it should be. I even tried using photobucket but even that won't work. I have tried using photobucket to resize to Avatar size and it still is not working.

Can anyone help?

Can you post the photo here inside a post and maybe somone can check it out and see if they can get it to work.

OK, I tried it on mine and it worked. Try clicking on my profile and copying the avatar right to your computer.

the problem was the 'extension' of the file. I couldn't upload the first one, either, when I grabbed it from Jash's post.

I had to use Snag It to convert it to a jpeg, and it loaded fine.

If you've never used SnagIt - it's GREAT! Not a day goes by that I don't use it.

It was the file 'type' not the file 'size' that was the problem. I converted the type. I literally use SnagIt every single day for something. It's VERY handy. At first I used the 30-day free trial, and found 'digital life' was so much better with it, so I bought it.

No, when I resized the photo myself I saved it as a jpg.
