    Question Sacred of Yasmin

My gynecologist put me on yasmin recently. I have read allot of bad experiences with it online and stuff. Does anyone have any good experiences ???

(I've not had any side effects yet, just a little cranky)

I've had great results with Yasmin. I've been on and off it for almost a year. I had very few side effects (spotting x 1 month) and headaches on and off for the first 1-2 months but that has been it.

I have heard a lot more negative effects then positive but guess it just works for my body.

I have also had a good experience with Yasmin. I read all about the bad side effects too and I was a little scared to start it, but once I did it was great. The only side effect I had was I felt a little naseus during the first couple of weeks. However, the positive effects are awesome. My skin is a lot clearer, I have less hair on my face, and above all my period is awesome (and it comes at the same time every month).

I just finished my first pack of Yasmin. The only side effect I experienced was a little cramping which would go away in a minute or so. I finished my first pack and I did not had my periods although its been a week since I left the med. My endo said that it is common and I am supposed to wait for another 3-4 days to see if periods come on their own or else I think I'll start with the next pack.
I now feel my hair loss is not as severe as it was. Atleast during shower the hair loss has reduced a lot.

My OB prescribed it for me. I just started this week. Yaz is apparently her preferred bcp for PCOS patients. I didn't ask why, but I've never had a problem with any bcp.

I was on it for 5 months. I really liked it, except I had 'breakthrough bleeding' starting the second week (which would last a week!). My doctor wanted to see if it would go away and gave it 5 months. It never did. He put me on Femcon, which is a higher dosage hormone. I heard a lot of bad side affects for both of these, but I think every person needs to see how it works for them. I really did like Yasmine, though!!

I was on Yasmin for about two years after my second baby. I loved it for about the first six months and then everything went down hill. I started having lots of stomach problems and headaches. I also had a lot of chronic muscle/joint pain. The worst of all were the HORRIBLE panic attacks. I have never had panic attacks in my life until this pill. My blood pressure was up so high on it too - it was 160/89. My normal bp is usually around 110/60 maybe - I am a fit cyster and weighed around 130 lbs at the time.

No one could figure out what was going on - they were giving me Xanax and all sorts of stuff. I finally saw a special on GMA about a guy who wrote the book "Best Pills Worst PIlls" and guess what was on the list. Yasmin. It is one of the worst pills you could ever take for the same reasons it treats PCOS. The synthetic progesterone in it wreaks havoc on some peoples bodies and the potassium sparing diuretic really did a number on me. Some people never had these side effects, but there are some really scary horror stories with it.

I ended up stopping the Yasmin. It took a couple of months for the panic attacks to stop, but they did and I haven't had one like those since. My periods were messed up for over a year, but I did end up getting straightened out and even got pregnant again. I personally think they should NEVER prescribe this pill, but that's just because of my bad experience with it. It wasn't worth it to me at all! BCPs are dangerous. There are better alternative/safe/natural ways!

I have been on Yaz for almost a month and have not had any side effects. I think my skin has even cleared up.

I've been taking Yasmin for over a year now and I honestly love it. Before I started taking it I had severely irregular periods and after being on Yasmin for one month my periods were completely better (28 day cycle like normal) and have been since. It has never caused any bad side affects.

The Metformin is a different story though. *sigh*

    Good Luck!

I've been on Yasmin for 7 months, after trying several other BCP. Finally yasmin worked, I'm actually able to accurately predict when I'll get my period. It's also helped with my mood. I was able to get off the Prozac I was given for PMDD.

I was on Yasmin for 4 months at the beginning of this year and didn't have any negative side effects. The three weeks per month I was taking it, my skin and hair issues were controlled. The week off I had more alopecia and a little acne, but not as bad as it once was.

With diet, exercise, and Yasmin, I lost about 20-25lbs.

After that, I was on Met and Spiro. I'm fine on the Met alone but Spiro made me bleed for 5 weeks! Then I was diagnosed with a large cyst and am now back on BCPs (Yaz).

Since being on Yaz for a week, I've lost another 7lbs!
