Default Has anyone switched from Yaz to Loestrin?

My GYN is switching me when I finish my pack of Yaz to Loestrin. What are your side effects if any? I am not familiar with Loestrin. Personally I would be happy if they would not go the BCP route.

I switched from Loestrin to Yaz because Loestrin made me swell, especially my legs. I also had really sore boobs while on it. I didn't have any of those problems with Yaz, but everybody is different!

I switched from Yaz to Loestrin, and I'm happy. I was having mid-cycle bleeding, but my doc thinks that I am actually cycling on my own schedule.

Josie, that is interesting because my legs are TOTALLY swollen on Yaz and my boobs are totally sore on them. I am actually losing my coverage since I just started work and will be getting on my company's coverage in the next few months, so I won't be on the Loestrin, more than likely.

I've been taking Loestrin 1/20 (microgest generic) for a year now. At first things were great but the last few months I've been losing more hair and getting slight acne. I think I'm going to go back to Demulin 35 (zovia). I'd prefer to stay on the lower estrogen but the progestin in loestrin isn't right for me.

I don't have any experience with Yaz/Yasmin. I don't think I'm a candidate due to taking an ace inhibitor.

I ended up going AMA and I didn't start the Loestrin FE. I am glad too- I am off the Yaz and my legs stopped swelling (well they are still swollen but not as bad and aren't getting worse). I am never going on BCPs again.

I used to take Yaz and my experience with it was terrible. I gained a ton of weight rapidly, horrible mood swings, etc. I found that I did MUCH better on Loestrin 24. I did have some side effects in the beginning (bloated, swollen boobs, etc) but they went away in the first month or so.

I'm back on the Zovia. I hope I won't have any spotting to speak of.
