Question Newbie here - dont know where to start

Hi everyone! I'm new here and there's so much on here that I don't even know where to start posting! lol

I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2005 but my husband just went from the Reserves (of 6 yrs) to regular Army in March of this year so now we have really good insurance and I can finally start getting some treatment.

I was just told that I need to get D&C surgery, which I'm REALLY nervous about! I get so depressed and start to hate myself and my body for being so messed up and different.......

If everything goes right the Dr. wants to put me on Clomid and has also suggested AI/IUI.......

Anyway, I feel alone here as an Army wife because as you may or may not know, all Army wives do here in KS is get pregnant! I would say about 50% of the wives here are currently pregnant. The other 50% already have 2 or more kids! I feel VERY alone! No one here can relate to me. I have no friends because I can't stand people with kids.

I love kids but the fact that I haven't been able to have any, makes me not wanna be around people that have a whole bus load which most do here.

Anyway, thanks for letting me vent and hope to meet some new friends!

    Welcome to SC.

The support here is wonderful. I lost so much track of time my first day here with all of the reading. I cried, laughed, but most important, realized I found a place I fit in, where I could vent, tell my hopes, and dreams, and be understood.

    Good Luck!

I am a newbie too. I don't even know how to start a thread on this site. I am looking to find a doctor in the Maryland/DC area that can help me get my hormones balanced. I am in my mid-20s and right now getting pregnancy is not my main concern but I do want to do everything I can to get this PCOS under control.

When you have a D&C they put you out, so it's not so bad in that way. I've only had one, but it was fairly physically painless afterwards, near as I remember. I seem to remember being a lil drained feeling, but otherwise not bad. The procedure I had the other day was way worse.

I'm military too, LOVE the insurance coverage!

I'd suggest just clicking through the forums and finding threads that catch your eye, and reading, as just doing that answers a lot of questions. And replying to those threads helps everyone get to know you too!

Welcome to SC! The women here are wonderful! No matter what your worries, concerns, or fears may be, you are sure to find someone here who is going through/has gone through the same thing.

Also, there are a number of military wives on the board. Hopefully you will find some of them soon, as I'm sure they will be able to relate!!!

I'm glad to hear that you've got good insurance and are seeking treatment. You owe it to yourself and your body! Also, the military has some of the BEST doctors!!!

I completely feel the same way! It stinks. I was just diagnosed (like 4 weeks ago) and am having a very difficult time dealing with it. I am sure there are others out there who feel the same way at times. We can only hope with the right treatment/management things will improve!

mrs fance - I know exactly how u feel. I love kids and esp babies. My sister-in-law just had a baby and I feel so bad but I can't even hold it. We started ttc long before she did and I just cannot even bring myself to hold her baby. I wanted the next newborn I held to be my own... I am new to this website and was glad to see that I am not the only one with these feelings
