Did anyone else experiance this on spiro

I just took my first dose of 100mg today of Spironolactone ,, the only big thing I noticed is that it made me feel kinda "funny" like when you take a pain pill they give you after a surgery, did anyone one else feel like that at all?

I've never been on pain pills so I can't really say, but I had a lot of side effects when I started Spiro a few weeks ago!

I started on 100 mg (am now up to 200) like you and immediately had problems with nausea, food aversion (I would start to feel sick from being hungry, but then eating would make me feel worse and give me terrible stomach cramps), urinating a million times a day, insomnia, etc.

The good thing though is that they subsided pretty fast! I started to feel better until I went up on my dosage, and now I feel fine again. Make sure you take it with food, that helped me a lot.

Thanks Navi , also did you ever find a particular food that really upset your tummy that I should think about avoiding I mean I'm already on a diet but every once in awhile I do like to treat myself

I also felt a bit funny when I took it. I switched and now take it at bedtime and things are much better.

No, for me it was just any food, usually around dinner/night. But after a couple weeks that's completely gone away.

well it's day three I haven't felt faint again I did call my doc and they said it could have just been a coincidence, I haven't really experienced an upset stomach yet I did however notice this morning that my stubble wasn't as beastly as it usually is I mean not a huge difference but noticeable to me because I get the joy of rubbing it everyday,, thanks so much ladies for all the info!!!!!!!

I have just started taking it and am on 50mg a day, will increase to 100mg in a couple of weeks. I have felt really dizzy - like when I get up in the morning or jump up to get the phone. And I'm thirsty and need to pee a lot, but my endo told me I would feel like this and these things will go as I get used to the medication. Apparently lots of women lose weight because you don't retain as much water/bloating....
