Thread: Daily Scripture

  1. #1

    Default Daily Scripture

    Hello fellow Christian cysters! I talked with a few other ladies (Jashobeam and Hopeful) and we all thought it would be a good idea to have a daily scripture thread. Please review and add your own scripture and thoughts.

    GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

    Here is my first entry:

    Deuteronomy 11:13 (New International Version)
    13. So if you faithfully obey the commands I am giving you today—to love the LORD your God and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul-

    Hi Heidi: girl, this is GREAT! i'm excited for our new thread and i know it will be so awesome for us to meditate on His Word.

    okay here is my verse for today:

    Psalms 23:1
    "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want..."

    To me it means, that all my needs are met by His hand and that i lack nothing that i need right now..well...maybe a baby..lol..but in His time!

    I still don't have a specific scripture I would like to post. But in my bathroom next to the mirror that I use to get ready every morning I have the foot prints poem. It is a good daily reminder of God's daily presences in my life. Most days especially the tough ones it makes me feel really good to read it.

    Heidi: That Scripture pretty much sums up the whole Bible and our destiny, purpose, hope and future!

    Ellie: Welcome!

    Here's mine: Isaiah 54:1 1 "Sing, O barren woman,
    you who never bore a child;
    burst into song, shout for joy,
    you who were never in labor;
    because more are the children of the desolate woman
    than of her who has a husband,"
    says the LORD.

    Personally, this Word was given to me on the morning of my surgery to have my tubes removed, but the Lord in His mercy and awesome power, did not allow that to happen, and i am forever grateful to Him for this, Glory to the King!

    Heidi: i understand, and God also understands our moments of sadness as we wait for our gift of children. He is not surprised or indifferent to our pain, but He does want us to come to Him and lay our head on His lap and cry as He gently reassures us that in His time it will be perfect, His plans are for good and He's never late. Here is Psalm 4:
    1 Answer me when I call to you,
    O my righteous God.
    Give me relief from my distress;
    be merciful to me and hear my prayer.
    2 How long, O men, will you turn my glory into shame [a] ?
    How long will you love delusions and seek false gods [b] ?
    Selah

    3 Know that the LORD has set apart the godly for himself;
    the LORD will hear when I call to him.

    4 In your anger do not sin;
    when you are on your beds,
    search your hearts and be silent.
    Selah

    5 Offer right sacrifices
    and trust in the LORD.

    6 Many are asking, "Who can show us any good?"
    Let the light of your face shine upon us, O LORD.

    7 You have filled my heart with greater joy
    than when their grain and new wine abound.

    8 I will lie down and sleep in peace,
    for you alone, O LORD,
    make me dwell in safety.
