Calling all Chicagoland / Illinois Cysters

Hi cysters!

I’ve noticed that we have quite a few cysters on here from Chicago, the suburbs of Chicago and even Illinois in general. So that got me thinking (DH will warn you that’s never a good idea for me).

Why don’t we start our own Chicagoland Thread?

I thought it would be a great opportunity to share local information. We can share doctor recommendations, doctor beware warnings, places to shop for good deals, you name it we can share it, all kinds of fun stuff.

I think it’s nice to get to know those near you. Maybe some groups near each other can even plan little get together if they’d like, such as coffee, or lunch sometime! I think it would be just one more way for us PCOS cysters to bond and even network with new people.

There are so many possibilities of what we can do if we got to know each other. Of course we can help each other out with karma and such while sharing.

I’m posting this in the PCOS General/What’s on Your Mind forum, if we decide to continue I’ll create the new one in the Meet & Greet /Getting to Know you forum if everyone is in agreement.

Let me know what you think, if you’d participate, suggestions, comments, etc. If we have enough people that like the idea then we’ll go ahead. Of course anyone is welcome!

I think it can be either. I talk to so many local cysters on here and a couple of us have talked about meeting for coffee since we're nearby.

So I guess a little of both. Plus it's nice to talk to someone local, who might know a good place to get something your looking for, recommend places, that kinda thing.

Like this weekend, we're going to Geja's Cafe in Lincoln Park, has anyone tried it? It's this little fondue place that's ranked one of the most romantic in the city, so I'm excited but I'd love to hear from someone who's been there already.

I'm from outside the 'real' city-out in Mundelein, right between Gurnee Mills Mall & Hawthorn Mall...I'd be totally down with a once a month lunch-thing...just to meet & talk...just a thought. :o)

hey all! im from iowa but bf lives in chicago and im leaving on a train to go to there this sat and spend 2 wks there and im at a lots what to do other then shopping ofcourse lol

I went to Fremd, but the neighborhood across from ours went to Barrington, so I had friends at both schools
