Default What was your testosterone level?

I'm just curious because I finally went to see my MD today and was able to get my hands on my bloodwork from November. My testosterone at that time was 61, which according to the range listed on the paperwork is "normal." But my MD said that anything over 35 is considered "elevated."

Mine was 45. It was also within the normal ranges, but closer to the high end. But I don't have the facial hair issue, just the acne.

Mine was 89! And the highest in the "normal" range was 76. But when i got tested by another doc it was at 49 and the highest was 45. I guess they use different methods of measurements.

But I don't have irregular periods. My hairiness is on my legs and arms. My legs are very hairy. And some nipple hair.

Mine is 71 which according to their scale is high. I feel gross because I have too much hair and more coming in all the time :-(

I did just start spearmint tea because it is supposed to lower the testosterone. I figure it can't hurt anything. I ordered pure spearmint at an online tea site.

Mine is 49. Hair on upper lip (thank God I'm blonde), happy trail, nipple hair and non-stop acne on my chin and around my mouth.

Mine was 67, but I don't have a lot of acne or really any excess hair, thank goodness.

    Default 109!!!

Ok so mine is 109 ... and I've been on 500mgs of Met ER for 2 months now!!! Acne finally under control by avoiding stress and watching my diet (completely cut out soda). Facial, nipple, and happy trail hair excessive (I tweeze daily sometimes twice), and I haven't had a period (except for the one I had when my doc put me on progesterone) for a year.

Other than Met what is everyone else taking (and please don't say BCP because we're trying for a BFP ... but who knows when that'll happen)?

When I had mine tested a few years ago - it was 44. I have facial hair, body hair, and irregular periods.
    Me: 45
    Single, no children
No dx: all hormone levels "within normal limits"
Testosterone level: 44, but still have "hair problems"
    Meds: None
Exercise: walk 30 min. a day
Major symptoms: missed/absent AF, excessive facial/body hair, apple shape

    Be kind to one another!

UsForever - BCPs seemed to have controlled my PCOS, because I didn't realize I had it until I stopped taking them. You didn't want to hear about that though I'm about to start my first Clomid cycle (100 mg). I don't think my doc put me on Met b/c I'm not IR. We're TTC #1 too. When were you Dx with PCOS?

UsForever - One more thing, I'm thinking I may need to cut out soft drinks too. I switched to only diet about a year ago, but I'm wondering if it's still messing with my system some how. Habits sure are hard to break!

I was on BCP from 18-25 yrs old ... I think that's what prevented the dx of PCOS, and controlled it. I wasn't diasnosed until Jan of this year, I stopped taking my BCPs May of 07 and when I didn't have a period still in November I went to the dr. I'm scheduled to go see a RE (reproductive endocrinologist) in April so maybe that'll give me more insite. I'm just happy I don't really have the weight issue, hair I can tweeze.

And yeah ... cutting out soda was so hard but I just stopped buying it so its never in the house (my dh is supportive and has lost weight himself as a result) and when I go out I usually have lemonade or now and then I'll have a soda.

    Default My levels

I know my testosterone level was higher than normal, but all other hormone levels are normal. i have excess chin hair ( I hate it). But, since I pretty much cut out junk food and fast food and try to eat as little processed foods as possible, my hair growth has slowed significantly, I've lost like 70 lbs (which I gained while ON bcp), my periods have been spot one for almost a year and a half (except for the past two months) and my acne has been greatly reduced. As for my weight, I'm still overweight, but I don't carry my weight in my belly, i carry it in my hips. I'm a pear shape.

I wish there were definitive answers or diagnosis with this syndrome! It's great to have women to talk to who have it too!
