I was just diagnosed last Friday...

Hey everyone!
Im new to all of this, My name is Amanda, Im from California and im 24 years old. Just last week I was diagnosed with having PCOS.Ill have to admit Ive been pretty stresed out and affraid of hearing this latest news and being informed about the long term effects it could have on me if I dont take care of myself now. When I found out I had this syndrome I right away came to the internet to look up more info on PCOS and came across your board here. It was a sigh of relief to find you all becuase not knowing much about this I hope to find others to talk to on here about the symptoms ive experiences and if others have too and to help me along with this process of feeling better about this all happening.
My dr currently put me on Metforin and Yaz. I only started on Tue. but one thing I have noticed is that im EXTREMELY tired! Not sure which of the two it is but today I decided to take the Met. this morning and Im going to try taking the YAZ at nite so I can just sleep afterward lol has anyone elese encountered such fatigue?

I look forward to talking with you all and getting even more knowledge about PCOS and having the oppurtunity to build a support group for myself as well as being there for others

Welcome to the group. I was diagnosed the same day (or at least that is when I found out about my diagnonsis). I am on Spiro right now and will be Starting met next week after my glucose tolerance test. I haven't noticed the tiredness on the Spiro yet...

calidancerchick - Hello and welcome to SC! I hope you find this site as comforting and informative as I have over these past several months.

As far as the fatigue you are feeling, I've honestly heard most cysters say that they felt more energy from the Met. I don't think my Met has ever made me feel fatigued. You may want to check out the section on medications. There is a whole area devoted to Metformin. I don't know much about Yaz but there may be a thread that discusses it as well. Maybe the Yaz is the culprit.
