Is this a clot? Maybe TMI?

I am wondering whether this is a clot or not as to know what to say to my gyn.
It was 12 inches long approx but long, thin like elastic black.

The only thing is they have come with dark blood which i presume is old for the past 2 months. The other periods were fine as on the pill.

Thanks for posting this question, I had 3 of what you are describing on my first period day (after only having spotting or "L" periods) - I counted this day as Heavy "H".

I know from experience that clots come in lots of sizes and shapes. It sounds like that is exactly what it is.

This sounds gross but if you are ever unsure about what it is you can always bring it to your Dr for them to tell you.

I have had huge clots. Never a long skinny one, but golf ball or bigger sized ones.

Yeah I never had a long skinny one either, just big ones like sarahgmac said....round shaped.

I have pea sized ones and I thought that was bad! Can't imagine a gold ball sized clot, OUCH!

I had "something" pass that was a pretty good size, I felt it.. thank you for posting this. Now I am pretty sure that it was a clot. I would imagine that they could be the way that you describe.
This site is amazing, I have learned more here then with any Dr.
