ut, bree lost her mucus plug at 36w and she went into labor at 37w1d... you are a lot close than us!! lol

my2babies: ell understands what a baby is now, she knows that there is one in bree's belly and gives it kisses all the time, but she also thinks there is one in her belly button. so... it's hit or miss mostly. we're all really excited.

Izy - That is so adorable that Ellys thinks there is a baby in her bellybutton sometimes. Too cute!

Ut - Good luck! I lost my MP the same day my water broke. 37 weeks to the day...had a baby in my arms 18 hours later.

    That's my Boy!!!

I have lost a lot of the mucus plus. Tons.. I am not sure how much is left though lol. I have not noticed any that were tinted pink or red so I don't know if its all gone or how much I have left to go.

But today I am feeling so sick. I am really nauseated to the point where I may go home (at work right now) because I can't focus and every time I open my mouth to talk or anything I get the urge to empty the contents of my stomach.

How can you tell if you are dehydrated? I drink lots of water but I am wondering if I still might be a little.

Good question... never hurts to drink more though. B did have a brown tinged mucus plug which is considered a bloody show and generally means labor is right around the corner. The plug can regenerate itself though so you could loose some and it just rebuilds. We didn't actually know she was in labor when we went to the doctor... we just knew that she was very sick vomiting dia and the like. Being sick is usually a sign that labor is coming on! Good luck!

    Default Negotiating Baby Discussion

Hi Everyone. I'm not sure if this is where to post this but maybe you can help. I'm 32 and married to my wonderful wife who is 51. She has a 28 yr old daughter from her first marriage. We talked about having a child before we got married (we'll be married 1 year on March 1st) and she said she would be open to the possibility because she wouldn't want to deny me the experience. Now, I'm bringing it up and she's hesitant. I don't want to "guilt" her into having a baby. I've never TTC so I'm not sure I can. I've been on Met since Nov. 2007 and have been losing weight. My last u/s in Aug. '07 was clear.
I've tried to tell her that this isn't something that will happen overnight. I still need to get my PCOS more under control and then there's the whole finding a sperm donor so it's a process. I think part of the problem is that she feels like she's going to be "seperate" from the process. I've told her she's still going to be the Mom.
Any advice on how to negotiate this with one's spouse? Thanks so much!

Magnoliagirl: I can see that I am ridiculously late in answering you and I am sure that I wont be much help but want to answer you anyway. I have a sister who has kids and my wife doesn't have any sibs so if she didn't have any kids, her genetic line would basically stop. My partner has a deep desire to carry our children and to be the only one to carry all of our children and i have no real desire to ever carry a child. In fact, I never really thought about having children before I met her. My desire for children has been driven by my love for her, and so we are in complete agreement on this issue. Though I have made her swear that if the desire ever does arrise she will be supportive. I know she wont though and I am fairly certain urge/need wont either. I love my daughter and wouldn't want her or any of my other children to be anything other than that mix and full bio-sibs so... it wasn't a very difficult decision for us. All I can say is that in a lot of ways our daughter is more "my kid" than hers... we're kindred spirits, you know? I went to every appointment and that helped to not feel separate. I also made all fertility decisions... with her agreement obviously.

Brook: welcome! What is your TTC history?

Gaia: no experience with IVF... we did injectables the last few rounds and will likely do that while TTC#3 as well. Good luck... there have been so many sucess stories with IVF on first try on the thread so I am very optimistic for you! 11 embabies sounds great too!

my2babies: too excited.. we just wanna see her already and get this show on the road, ya know. hard to be patient. 6-8 weeks to go, so I am counting down! She is feeling more pregnant than she is and is pretty uncomfortable too. We're just starting to get ready for her arrival!

my2: Hey...don't worry about it! Her name is Evyn Liviah. The girls will def be sharing a room - probably for the rest of their lives. They'll be lucky if it's just them two in the long run. I don't know if we have theme to the nursery... we are moving from brown woods to white since we needed a new crib for Evyn and when we bought Ellys her toddler bed we got white. The room is like a pale yellow with white molding and we are thinking about decals. It has a modern sort of theme with pottery barn kids bedding and amy coe crib and (soon to be) changing table.

I attached pics since I don't currently have any of the nursery. The owl stuff is Ellys' and the sheep is Evyn's. We also got some monkey sheets for the new baby. I will take pics when I am all done and will link them here!

Oh wow!! How pretty!! Those are 2 very lucky girls!! That owl bedding set is so sweet, and the sheep set is modern but still soft and pretty. Great choices!! Now, if you and dw have a boy next time, will you have to move to a bigger place? You wouldnt put a boy in with all that frilly prettiness, would you? LOL

Oh we would totally put a boy in that! I'm one of two girls and a boy and we all shared a bedroom for most of our childhood. Mind you, the bedroom was bigger than my kids' room. I think the idea we've pondered is like designating a wall per kid. The paint job is neutral and the decals would be as well so only the beds have any gender specific stuff. Here are the boys sheets we like. ... though we do have an animal/nature theme going right now kinda.

Thats cute. Is it old fashioned? i love the design. But are you allowed to have 3 kids in the same room nowadays if one is of a different sex? I know once the oldest child turns 5 then if they share a room with a sibling of the opposite sex they have to get their own room. But thats a long way off. First get dd #2 here before you worry about #3, which may or maynot be a ds...LOL I love the themes you guys come up with. Where do you find this stuff? Those boy sheets are just sooooo cute. I've never seen anything like them!!
