Question What do you take for Endo pain?

I was diagnosed w/ Endo and PCOS at the same time in 2000. I had two lap surgeries w/ the second one to remove scar tissue from my ovaries which had been adhered to my colon w/ endo plaque or whatever you call it. I have an almost 8 month old baby and my doctors keep warning me that the endo will be coming back at some point - this is the first time in my life where I haven't had debilitating pain from periods as well as bowel issues. So what works for you all? Any vitamins, homeopathic treatments, pain meds?

I'm using a 10mg of Toradol (or Ketorolac) for the first day to get through the pain right now. I begged for something to get rid of the pain, because I tend to go too far with the Aleve or Motrin (they did nothing!) . And, plus I refused to go on bcps anymore because I'm high risk for breast cancer.
As far as homeopathic methods/alternative methods, I'm currently trying a no wheat diet which is built on the basis that wheat seems to contribute to higher estrogen levels and disruption of hormones. The book is by Dian Shepperson Mills, a nutritionist, whom also suffered from unbearable endometriosis. It seems that women with PCOS and endometriosis has had great success in reduction of pain and fertility. She also recommends a three month trial of vitex, magnesium malate (for the cramping) primorse, selenium, and B-complex. Look it up on amazon.com and read the reviews if you prefer this alternative. I highly recommend her book, it's truly knowledgeable and it's a good read with testimonials and all.
I am finding it so hard to avoid wheat, it's in everything!

I have had Endometrios for many years and after all prescription pain killers the only thing that every helped me was a natural muscle relaxer with Aleve

It is called Formula 303 ...I take 2 pills with 1 Aleve pill as needed. My SIL also has Endo and is hooked on this since I introduced her.

You can find it online if you don't have a Chiropractor or local supplement store that carries it.

I also encourage accupuncture and some sort of ongoing holistic healing. I swore off all hormone therapy and prescription drug treatments for my Endo/PCOS a few years ago and never felt better. Gave birth to my 1st baby 2 months ago.

I take fish oil at 6grms (2grm omega 3) daily. I ran out of fish oil once and the pain of the endo coming back was unbearable, all the other symptoms were more tense also..

Omega 3 fish oil 4000mg per day and 1000mg evening primrose oil. (any more than 1000mg evening primrose would make me mooooodyyyy!)

Vitamin B and C in high dose stress complex

Zinc which was an anti inflamitory and helped immune system

Calcium and magnesium (FANTASTIC for PMS and cramps)

Milk thistle to clense bad hormones

Omega oils contained vitamin E which is very good for back cramping in menstruation

All this + acupuncture took me from a pain scale of 9 to around 1. I got my life back. It was worth it And in the end I forgot I was having a period because they were absolutely painless.

funkydiva77 and Pearl1981....I have used the Omega-3 yesterday for my cramps and I have to say it did work and relieve the bad boys big time!
I'm without the Toradol because I'm on vacation right now and I totally forgot to count the days and anticipate the period coming. I went to the local drug store here in Maui and bought some and Aleve. So, I have to give you guys credit for this new found relief pill. I used to use the Omega-3 a lot last year, along with other vitamins and minerals. I remember the periods was less then too. I wasn't sure if it was the Omega or not, but now you definitely made the treatment official! Kudos to ya!!!! Thanks a lot!!!!
