    Thumbs up Slimming World

Hi all, I just wanted to share my progress so far. I have just started slimming world a month ago and have lost 13 and a half pounds so far!! I am so excited about it and I have not found it hard at all. I am 5 foot tall and started off at 13 stone, I want to get to 8 stone. I FINALLY got a period after 11 months with out it, me and my hubby have been TTC for 5 years now and I was about to start taking the pill to get AF back but I think just losing the weight has saved me from taking it! I never thought I would lose the weight but it is coming off. Has any one here had any success with sliming world?

I have never really followed an actual diet before now (I am just cutting down on bad carbs now, so its still not a real diet) - but my sister is fluffy and has tried loads of diets over the years, slimming world was one of the best for her.

Congrats to you! Its amazing how our bodies respond to healthy living! I had my shortest cycle ever without BCP just by cutting down on bad carbs!

    Wow! Well done!

I'm doing Weight Watchers and my success rate hasn't been anywhere near as good as yours. What does Slimming World entail? WW is essentially a simplified way of calorie counting, is SW the same sort of thing?

To be honest, I really don't enjoy my meetings. I find the leader REALLY obnoxious and not at all prepared to answer questions that the other members ask. He's pleasant enough with the longtime members, but not very welcoming to newcomers.
(Plus he's given some really poor advice - for example, the best way to get calcium is from the sun!!! Can you believe it!)

I'd definitely consider doing a different program.

My mum did slimming world a few years ago now and lots about 4 stone!

I used to do it with her but never lost any weight (pcos and ir undiagnosed at the time)

Do they still do red and green days, 10 sins a day and such?

I lost 7.5lbs in the first two weeks - I was so astonished I cried. BUT I'm veering between that an another diet at the moment because SW made my brain fog worse - I think I overloaded on green days.

I can't decide whether to continue with SW or go a different route at the moment. Do you do mostly red days or a bit of both - has it improved any of your other symptoms. I need my brain to be working for my job and lower carbs works for that.

I found that Red days - less carbs - worked far better for me. I have been going to Slimming World, but have got off-ish plan, and I need a good kick up my arse! Just started on Metformin though, so hoping that and doing the plan will help.

I've stopped going to Slimming World. Everything was fine while I was losing weight but I regained some for no aparent reason (happens to me a lot with PCOS) and the leader was quite nasty - she embarrassed me in front of the group and also sent me a letter about it.

I lost 8lbs and then regained 7lbs - I think the carbs were doing me no good at all.

I'm getting off the carbs for a while and then I'll think about something else (probably Lyle McDonald's Carb cycling)

WOW our leader used to say our name and weight out in front of the whole class so if i had gained she would go

Jess has gained 1lb never mind jess u will know for next week , i was like no what lol?
Their excuses are - you should have more red days , and if you say well i was mostly on red days they will so , you need more green days lol!

    Mine was a witch!

when I was losing weight I was fine but then I gained weight - I had had two weeks of personal problems - I found out my son's girlfriend was pg (he is only 18) and she was living with us and became really ill - hospitalised - at the same time my Mum was hospitalised for heart problems. Well you know PCOS and any type of comfort eating - bang and the weight jumps on. So I was already feeling low and sensitive - she just said my name, put her hands on her hips and stared at me and there was this long (very long) silence - everyone just looked at me and I thought I was going to cry.

I told her I had been having some personal problems. She asked me if I had read my "yellow book" - I just looked at her - so she took the pack out of my hands and said "she doesn't even know what I'm taling about" - then she told me there would be a test the next week so I'd better read it.

The week after guess what - I'd gained half a pound and hadn't had time to study her bloody book so I got weighed and left. She sent me a letter telling me she'd noticed I'd gained weight and hadn't stayed to class and she phoned me at work.

And I was paying her, lol!
