    Question After Miscarriage Bleeding? help!

it's been 3 days since I passed everything and I found out on Thursday from a vaginal u/s that the miscarriage was complete.

My bleeding is medium heavy and bright red to dark red
I am having small dark clots, about the size of pencil eraser or smaller a few times a day.
I also have some cramps and pressure.

    Is this normal?
I don't have a fever or weakness, and the blood does not smell foul or anything

This sounds totally normal to me. After my m/c last year I had a week or two of heavy bleeding with clots, then it stopped for a while, then returned and the bleeding did not go away for almost two months. This won't happen to you though. I was 12 weeks along (baby died at 9 weeks) and chose to go natural against doctor's wishes (they wanted me to have a D&C because I was in late first trimester). It is definitely normal to have cramping and pressure. I felt something like actual contractions a few days after the m/c while I was bleeding, and in addition my cervix was sore for a few weeks. Even after the bleeding stopped my cervix was sensitive for a while and it hurt to have sex for a few weeks after that.

I think I bled in total for 8-10 days, and all of it was super heavy or medium flow with clots.
It will take awhile, but it will end someday (*hugs*)

I bled for 2 weeks and then continued to spot for another week or two when I had my natural m/c and that was after everything passed. (((HUGS)))

When I had my first miscarriage in 2001, I was 11 weeks. I cramped and bled for 3 months! My doctor was determined that I needed to go through the process naturally. My second was at 6 weeks and was just a heavy period. When I had my third mc, I was 10 weeks. I had to have emergency D&C due to heavy bleeding and pain. There was no bleeding after the D&C.

I think that everyone's miscarriage symptoms are all different. All three of mine were.

    Katie,

Your bleeding sounds normal. If you do not stop or slow down in a week or so you may want to call your doctor. I am fortunate enough to work on a weekly basis with my doctor (I work in an OR as a RN) and he said as long as I didn't spike a temp I should be fine.
