    Default Can't afford Health Insurance

So I was diagnosed with PCOS and Factor V Leiden almost 9 years ago when I was 13. I haven't been treated since then. Now that I am 21 and my husband and I want to try starting a family, I am unable to conceive. We have been trying for a little over 2 years now naturally and no luck. We really want to start a family. However, we cannot afford HI. Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance,
    Amanda

I'm not too sure but you can apply for discounted insurance plans within your state? i know in California they have something called Medi-Cal but I don't know about other states.

Many states offer insurance for the uninsured or uninsurable. Plan cost varies from state to state, sometimes free for those with very low income, and sometimes you must pay premiums. Google your state name and health insurance.

Have either you or you husband considered getting a job that offers insurance?

Do some research on alternative and natural methods to treat PCOS. Many cysters have conceived by switching to a low carb diet and exercising. I'm not sure what your situation is, but many doctors suggest you try to lose weight before you try fertility treatments.

Do you see a doctor at all? Maybe you could talk to your gyn or your PCP about the options for treatment without spending much money. The bloodwork can be expensive without insurance, but once that is out of the way, many of the medicines are generic, and only cost $5 a month at Walmart, Target, etc. Walmart has even started offering meds for $10 for a three month supply.

Talk to your doctor up front about how much it will cost and save for it like you would save for a car or a vacation.

Default Can't afford Health Insurance :(

I applied for Medicaid when i was 15 so that i could get on birth control...
I have tried multiple times to reapply or to change it to cover my PCOS.. the women at the Department of Human Resources just tell me that i could try to apply for a medical spin down (you have to have bills to get a spin down) I went to the doctor about a week ago and paid out of pocket for the visit..

He wouldn't run any blood test, and didn't schedule an ultra sound... He just wrote out a Rx for 1000mg of Metformin a day for 12 months. The only reason he told me to come back was if i decided to get pregnant.. (i want a baby, but cant afford insurance or the treatment of my PCOS let alone a baby)

I'm just unsure of what to do...

I'm beginning to become very upset and depressed.

I'm trying really hard to find a job but i have NO experience in anything and i live in a VERY small town.

Some one have any suggestions of what i can do?

How do you get insurance through your state???

This won't help much, but you might want to check into online labs. Some require a Rx., while other's don't. Of course, the e-lab companies that don't require a Rx. will likely have less available test options for you.

If you have/get a cell phone (even monthly/non-contract), the cell phone bill would still be considered a bill. You could also do the prepaid cells.

    Hope that helps.

Hon I know your pain. Right now I have insurance thru CoverTN (insurance from Tennessee) and well I can't afford the premium. My husband is out of work and I barely make ends meet and i get 265 a week and work 40 hours. I wish I could find something here. I wish I could find a Dr. that will take me and is cheap but I know there's no such thing.
