Good News (and a question) about test results!!!

So I was orginally dx with pcos in May. My first test results indicated that my insulin was 6 (that is all the dr. did at that point). I was put on met. 500 2x a day.

Then I switched Dr.'s a month later and he did a whole bunch of lab work (June of 08). In this round of test results my insulin was 5.5 and my testosterone was 76. He put me on Gluc. (name brand of met.)---850 three times a day.

I just went back for my two month follow up appt. and my new results were
Insulin: 4.7
Testosterone: 65

Soo---i guess the medicine is working right? Slowly but surely? no period as of yet---but I'm still very hopeful!!

Any advice as to what I could do in addition to this? I already eat pretty well and run 25 miles a week!

i don't really have any suggestions because it sounds like you're on the right track - it's great that you are getting tested often enough to see hormonal changes. hope AF comes soon!

kch2- That is great news. My gyn put me on Met however I was inside the normal range for glucose. I have heard though it takes about 3 to 6 mths for the Met to get your system more balanced. Good luck!
