Hi all,
I'm from Singapore(that's in Asia) and I'm very new here...but now newly diagnosed. I've been married for 6 years, and have been TTC all along. When we didn't get pregnant 2 yrs after marriage, we went through a vaginal u/s and the gynae diagnosed me with PCOS.
He put me on 1 round of clomid and took blood tests on cd14, only to say i didn't ovulate. Clomid had me feeling so bad that hubby asked me to stop. That cycle, I had a long bout of bleeding, possibly just AF but I remembered (a few weeks after CD14), passing out something that suspiciously looks like a gestational sac. Of course I didnt know what that was, was in the toilet when it happened so I just flushed it away(I know, stupid of me but I was just shocked). Only found out later from friends and relatives that it could've been a miscarriage.
Here in Singapore, it's really hard to talk abt PCOS cos not many people are aware of the condition. So I pretty much have been telling people around me wht PCOS is and what it does to the body, how it correlates to insulin levels, blah blah blah. All the influx of info I get off the internet does make my head spin too sometimes *lol*
My doctor won't give me Met, so I'm taking it self-prescribed, 850mg a day. I think it helps AF to come more regularly although I don't know if I 'O'd on it. Also, for the past week I've been trying out more holistic remedies such as taking EPO and some supplements namely chromium picolinate and triple soy lecithin. Also cutting back on carbs cos oh, did I mention, I am overweight! Put on over 60lbs after my marriage and the weight only hit a plateu after starting on Met.
Hubby and I are content on waiting to adopt in a year or two...especially after finding out that my genes may not be the best to be passed down. Quite a few of my relatives have cancer, that's why...including my mom(ovarian cancer survivor).
Other than that, I am happily married with my DH...who has always, ALWAYS been supportive of me.
So...nice to meet you =)
