    Default Metformin & Coffee???

Is it ok to drink coffee with Metformin? I'm a coffee lover so I'd rather not give it up unless I have to. Thanks again for responses!!

That is a good question. I will have to keep up with your thread and see what everyone says. I am drinking coffee, so I hope it does not interfere. I asked about Zantec 150mg for heartburn and she said it was fine.

I'm not a big coffee drinker but occasionally I'll have a cup of coffee when it's cold out (I work outdoors for my job). Anyway, I've had coffee (w/milk) a couple of times since on Met and I haven't had any problems with it so far. I would think that if Met interacts badly with coffee, your doctor would have told you to stay away from it by now. Good luck!

I too drink coffee everyday. My only problem is if I use sugar in it I am in the bathroom. I have to use sugar free creamer and equal. Not too tasty but it works for me.

It's been fine for me. I am a big coffee drinker sometimes 4-5 cups a day. That may not be so good for other reasons but I can't give it up I love love love it.

I am a massive coffee lover and before I started on met I drank shedloads of the stuff. But bizarrely having started on it the smell made me feel really really nauseous. I've not tried drinking it since - but now I'm going to dust off my coffee jug and see if I can manage a mug with the Sunday papers. *crosses fingers it was just an initial side effects thing*

Now with a PCOS blog, mainly because when my lovely friends and family ask how I'm doing nowadays you can almost see them thinking 'Please just say fine! Just say fine! Don't tell me about your ovaries. Or mention your apparent obsession with the fact you have toe hair. Please!'
