    Default Metformin and gastric upset

I'm on day 3 of Metformin (500 mg 2 x a day). Days 1 and 2 went off without a hitch but today I've started having potty problems. I drank a low calorie Snapple (only 10 calories and 1 sugar per serving and I drank less than half a serving) and got stomach cramps and had to run to the bathroom. I had eggs for breakfast and an apple with peanut butter for lunch and they have all sent me to the restroom. My stool is watery and burns. Anyone else having similar experiences? Can I still drink coffee with sugar free creamer?

I still get the upset stomach months later. However, I think it hurts much less with MORE food, not less. I almost get no stomach upset when I take it in the middle of a meal. But it has to be a meal, not a snack.
