Hi, everyone. I am excited about finding you. I have not really ever had a regular cycle except when on bcp. I was lucky to have a period once every three months. I went off of bcp January 2000, couldn't conceive, asked Dr. about Pcos, she said there is no real way to diagnose. Conceived in Oct 2000 with help of clomid. Mostly a normal full term pregnancy. I was diagnosed with a blood clotting disorder and found out I should have never taken bcp ( I clot too easily). After my beautful daughter was born I went on Depo-provera because my dr said it was safe, not true. Fortunatly I didn,t have any problems. After two years I stopped Depo ttc. Two years later conceived on my own. Suprise!! Gave birth to an amazing baby boy in Oct 2005, he was 4 weeks early but healthy. Had my tubes tied. Now back to irregular cycle. Asked dr what to do, she suggested Metformin. Started Nov 2007, worked great for about 10 months, although it made me sick to my stomach and I had no desire to eat at all. Then in Sept 2008, just stopped working. Asked dr about it, she said to keep taking it and ran a bunch of tests including transvaginal ultrasound which confirmed pcos. I stopped metformin because it was making me sick and not working. Since my son was born symptoms seem to be worse than ever. I just want to have a regular cycle and lose weight. Sorry that was kind of long. Feels great to be able to talk to others going through the same things. Sometimes I feel like a beast because I'm tired and irritable most of the time. It's hard to enjoy time with my family. I know it's not my fault but it makes me sad.
