Anyone experience extra hair on arms because of PCOS???
Yup.
I've had extra hairy arms my entire life, it seems.
When I was in middle school, kids teased me RELENTLESSLY. God. It was awful. So then I shaved. It was bad though because I would cut myself and people would comment on my stubble.
When I started getting teased about my "peach fuzz" on my face, that was terrible. So I've been shaving my face for years. Then, I had to start shaving my mustache and neck.
I returned to shaving my arms again, but take my time so I don't cut myself.
It seems like there isn't a place on my body that doesn't grow hair.

Yes, unfortunately. I made the bad decision a few years back to start shaving my arms. Now it's gotten to the point where I won't even wear short sleeve because you can tell I shave them, you can see a black shadow underneath the skin. What I've decided to do for this summer is grow my arm hair out then have it professionally waxed a few times. Hopefully after a few waxing sessions when my hair grows back in it won't be so thick and black and it may look a bit more natural. **fingers crossed**
I have semi-hairy arms, but don't worry about it too much. My sister who does not have PCOS also has them, so I'm thinking it is more genetic than PCOS. I've also noticed other women with hairy arms (worse than me) that don't seem to have facial hair.

I'm curious, how do you CUT it down with an electric razor? In my mind, I am thinking of a razor that you use to cut boys hair. Is it like that? Or is it another kind of razor? I dont want to shave mine with a regular razor, so I am curious on how you cut it down. Thanks for any info.
I been shaving my arms for quite some time now. I shave them every night so I don't get the dark lil stubbles. At first I thought it was somewhat embarrassing but now it really doesn't bother me as much.
There's little point in our allowing ourselves to be embarrassed about what is natural for us. None of us would have chosen to have male-pattern hair growth, but nonetheless for some of us male-pattern hair growth is what our bodies naturally produce. No-one thinks of shaving our legs as being a "masculine" thing. Shaving is a "masculine thing" only insofar as it relates to areas from which most women don't have to remove significant amounts of hair. While for some areas of light, fine, growth there are many options with regard to hair removal, when the growth is coarse, male-type growth in considerable quantities, shaving is often the most practical option.
i hate having hairy arms. its not pretty... its embarrassing and i hate it. one day i would like to laser it. im going to do my face first and if its okay i'll move on to my arms. right now i bleach the hair on my arms then get a pair of scissors and trim them up and at least the hair isn't black and out of control. i feel really stupid doing it. but i feel like a new person after wards. I know its not good to bleach your skin like that. but i do it prob. every two weeks. in the summer and in the winter i'll let it go longer because of long sleeves. But i only have to leave it on for ten minutes and honestly after applying one arm and doing another its time to rinse one arm and then i only have to wait like a total of 3 minutes with the cream on the other arm and then i can rinse it.. sooo thats working for me now. it does discolor my skin for about 20 minutes but it always goes back....I would love to just have the hair GONE. SPiro helps alot too. i just started taking it again. i went off all my meds for six months and it was the stupidest thing i could have ever done. Sometimes i see all of those hair gone commercials and i think to my self... YEAH only if it were that easy....
I have hairy arms, and shave them pretty much everyday. It works out pretty well.
Many women I know have been waxing from years, and because of that they pretty much have no hair now. I break-out if I wax, but if you can tolerate it, it seems to work great.
when you realize how perfect everything is you will tilt your head back and laugh at the sky.

My arms hair was a lot darker in high school for some reason. I still have arm hair but it's lighter now and less noticeable. I bleached it back then. You can find a Sally Hansen kit at the drugstore. I really liked it, although I did have to keep on top of it because I would get roots.
Previously on Met, currently on Ortho Tri-Cyclen, Spiro, and cinnamon
Yep, I just trim it with scissors (even though it leaves my arms feeling all gross and stubbly...but no one touches my arms anyway.) It's pretty noticeable if I don't do anything about it but I've seen girls with hairier arms than myself. And I even have hair on the upper part of my arms.![]()
