    Default How much?

How much Metformin should we be taking. I've heard that new studies show that 1500mg helps more than just 1000mg. Anyone have any ideas?

I think everyone needs a different dose. We're all different.

I have been taking 1000mg for 9 months. Nothing has changed with me, so as of today my doc has told me to take 2000mg a day (increase slowly).

Just give it time and don't worry about what other women are taking. Some have success on 500mg!!

My dr told me to talk 2000mg a day.. of course starting slowly.. Then I was taking it for a few weeks and for some reason, one day I started feeling like I was going to pass out, maybe its b/c I didnt eat as much as I usually did when taking it before.. So I freaked out and now only take 1000mg a day. I should just suck it up and start taking the 2000mg again like my dr prescribed.

I am not sure.. Doctor prescribed me 500 mg dosage with no increase. I actually just called them and there supposed to get back to me tomorrow. Little Confused on how the dosage thing works. I have been on it a little over a month now.

Everyone takes a different dose based on what their endo (or whomever they see) thinks is best. It is also based on what you are treating, your weight, and if you see results or not. I personally take 500mg and have been for 8 months. I don't plan on increasing unless I no longer see results.
