Thread: Is it the Met or the Yaz??

  1. #1

Default Is it the Met or the Yaz??

I have been on Met and Yaz since November, 2008.

Is anyone being transformed into a "woman" on this combonation of meds?? Sound crazy, do I??

I am a tall woman 6'2" and I have never been "hippy" or womanly shaped. Mostly just straight and plain looking, even when I was thin. But extra thick at the waist, like many of us PCOS woman.

Since the starting of the medications I have lost 6 inches at the waist. and gained 2 at the hip. OK? It gets stranger.

My "girls" (aka breasts), have not gotten smaller at all, considering I have lost weight. My measurements around the chest has decreased by 3 inches.

So now I am looking more hourglass. For the first time in 37 years of life.

I am not even counting the 40 pounds that I have lost since starting the meds. I gotta say that I am not hungrey like I used to be anymore.

I am NOT complaining!! But how strange that this medication can make bodys change so much. DH is just loving the changes and makes sure I am taking the meds every day. He is just the best.

Anyone else with a great out come with this combo??

In 2006 I was put on Yaz for three months. I was also on 2000mgs a day of Met. I lost lots of weight and developed an "hour glass" figure.

I am on 1500mg of met

I am also one of the strange ones that is constipated on met. Crazy hey?

Thanks for not letting me think I am the crazy one.

I love it. I think all of my hormones are all getting into the normal range and it is transforming me into a womanly shape. Gotta love it. My DH sure does, (wink, wink)

Met does help with weight loss and Yaz doesn't necessarily do either, but not gaining on a BCP is a benefit cause many can make you gain.

I do know several people who get constipation with Met - but I work with those on it every day. You're not strange at all. It effects everyone differently.

Congrats on the weight loss and the beautiful figure! Glad you're happy!!

How long did it take for you to notice that it was working for you. I have been on Met for about 2 months now and haven't really had any weightloss in pounds more like in inches. I have alot of fat around the belly that just won't go away.

It is someting that I am still getting used to. I am 37 and I have always been non-hourglass. Not that I am unhappy with that, its what I am used to. Emagine the look on my face in the mirror as this was happening. My hubby, who has seen me thin and now heavy. He was expecting to have me the straight figure that I had before. He is calling it a "bonus".

This just caught me off guard when I am reacting this way to the meds.

I am not concerned about my weight either. Everyone talkes about how the met has helped them loose weight. Yea, it did that to me too. I would be happy to just not have it get any highter. I actually think that I am loosing again. I kinda loose for a while and then it just re-distributes itself and people insist, including my dr, that I am loosing weight when in fact it is the same every day that I weigh.

Good luck with your journey ladies.

    Lightbulb Explanation

Remember that the met makes you lose weight...but the Yaz...although the best for not causing weight gain in my opinion, still makes the adipose (fat cells) thicker (expanded) in the female areas (breasts and hips).

Ladies, please note that Yasmine and Yaz are 2 different birth control pills.

Was someone calling Yaz Yazmen? I looked and I did not see anyone calling it anything but yaz. Yes there is a difference between yaz and yazmen, a big difference.

I know this sounds weird....but I'm starting to notice my body shape is slimming. I don't know if its this combination (because I've only been on Met for 5 days!). I "feel" lighter and slimmer - which gives me a little hope that maybe something is working. I don't have a scale to hop on and check, but I'm kinda afraid too because I feel good "feeling" lighter. haha! So I might not for awhile.....
