Do all women have hairy butts, not just PCOS women? Please ask a friend or two and post..I'd love to see the results and I will do the same. Thanks for helping with my curiousity.

It took patience and "giving up" until it worked for us!
No, all women don't. All women have some hair on their pubic area, though in some women it's very sparse, fine, and covers only a very limited area. Basically, the more testosterone and the less estrogen you have, the more likely you are to have extensive pubic hair and for the hair to spread up towards your navel and right round your butt crack and out over your butt cheeks.
It's simply that with PCOS our hair growth patterns are more likely to follow the "male" pattern than the "female" pattern, so with PCOS it's most common to have hair going all the way round the crack and out over the butt cheeks.
I have a couple friends without PCOS who have told me that they have hairy butts. So much so that they have to remove it. So, although ALL woman do not have this, some do!

I don't have an answer to this one, but the subject line made me giggle out loud.
It helps to have a sense of humor about this stuff sometimes, even though it sucks to be going through it!
in between the cracks some people have some..
My butt is hairy..lol.. and so is my friends and she doesnt have PCOS. I asked my mom...and she said I always had a hairy butt even since I was small.... interesting huh?
I have one.... haha, my aunt has one too she does not have PCOS, as well as my sister. (We are a very open family) Though, there's is not nearly as bad as mine.I'm wondering what I should do about it..
Anyways, hope this helped!
I think that there are women who have it because of PCOS, women who have PCOS but no hair in their crack and women who do NOT have PCOS but still have that blasted hair. It's not THAT uncommon (especially with some of the hairier ethnic groups....). I'm a hairdresser and we talk about *just* about everything and this is a VERY common complaint. Sheesh. If we all lived in the 1970s this wouldn't be such an issue... bur now with Brazilians and Porn and Photoshop it's easy to feel overly self-conscious.
Well, I am not comfortable talking about hair issues with my friends, none of them have PCOS and I can't bring myself to discuss it. But I will say not all PCOS women have hairy butts. I have excess hair on my arms, stomach, chest, breasts, and face, but not on my butt! And you'd think I would, b/c besides PCOS is the ethnicity thing--I'm 75% Hispanic, and Hispanics tend to be hairy. So who knows?
most of my friends have smooth rear ends, but i do have a couple with more hair than normal.
i have a hairy butt, but have had it since birth. my mother has forever told me how hairy it is/was and that she'd never seen an infant with such a hairy butt. i've always wondered about that!
I prefer to think of it as "fuzzy" :-)

In the "hippy years" it was acceptable for women to be natural, whatever that was. Burning bras was about more than women's lib -- in hippy circles it was about being accepted as one was naturally -- So what if my breasts are very small? So what, if I've a butt as hairy as a guy's? So what, if my thighs are naturally covered in coarse hair? This is who I am! And I can't help thinking that wasn't a bad attitude.
I was almost overwhelmed when I read that there are so many other women with a hairy butt on here!!!!!!!!! I think I really noticed mine when I was about 20 and I have to say it didn't really bother me unless I was in a relationship, thats when the veet, immac, nair and all those other smelly products came out of my beauty bag lol . I got some magic cream yest and I am gnna try it on my butt tonight , here's hoping it removes the dreaded crack hairand who knows maybe the next time me and my bf are having sex I wont feel so paranoid if he touches my bum. Will let you all know how it goes !!!! Magz xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I have butt hair. It's pretty course. I usually just shave it off when me and my soon to be hubby plan on having sex. I am German/Irish/English/Cherokee Indian and I have PCOS...most of the rest of me doesn't have much hair at all, but my butt and pubic area sure does! I haven't tried anything to get rid of it except for shaving.... When I shave I do use the Olay In Shower Body Lotion as my shaving cream..it helps alot!! A friend told me to use that.
Haha! Brilliant thread title!
All of my close friends but one fall into the female pattern (lucky buggers) but there's a weird kind of hairy solidarity between my hairy friend and myself. She's not been diagnosed with PCOS, but I think I might get her to go for a blood test or two, or at least speak to her doctor about it because she has a lot of PCOS symptoms.
I find my non-hairy friends aren't too sympathetic about the hair thing. When there's only one of them around, then yes. But as a pack they feel free to mock away. But I mock them for other things, so it evens out!
