Default need help....I want a baby bad.

PCOS... that is my dream crusher. Since I was a little girl I would dream of my future family. Great husband.. 4 babies two boys and two girls... named, hair color and what they would wear when we would take a family picture.

Well Thanks to a lovely little thing called PCOS my dream is out the window. Adoption cost so much when you want an infant.... What should I do... I need help.. I want to be a mother sooo bad... everytime someone tells me that they are pregant it breaks my heart... how much heart ache can one person have.... Anyone have advice?

Hi Tex I know how you feel, PCOS has had a negative impact on my life.. You can still become a mother see a gyno (a good one) and endo, they can give you instructions on that.. have you had your hormones tested? what symptoms do you have? Follow a healthy diet (search fertility diet online) take a good multi-vitmain and herbs for fertilty (see a narupath to determine which is best for you).

I would say don't give up. I was about to give up and remembered that I really hadn't done much about my situation. I went to an endo, got on the right meds, am trying to lose weight. I had my gyno give me clomid, I didn't O on cycle 1 but cycle 2 is in my sights. I would say until you've exhausted all of your options don't give up. This message board is a great wealth of info from great women who have done their homework. Read, Research, and don't give up!!

Haha. I SWEAR God picks out the women who want babies the MOST - those like the OP who dream all their life of having children and a husband....a family and the family life. I feel like I'm EXACTLY like you. I also want 4 children...and of course am struggling. I don't get it because I have NO other problems. I've always been the super healthy one - the one who never gets sick, injured, has no illnesses, eats well, exercises, is a healthy weight. I'm perfectly healthy!...except PCOS. I did NOTHING to diserve this. Gosh. Why us, huh?

    Goddess

Please don't do this to yourself. Don't take other people's negative energy. Be strong.

I know how you feel. I have had my share of miseries for one life time not expecting anymore, only to be diagnosed with PCOS 3 days ago after days of tests and examinations. I sometimes look around me and see so many women unfit to be mothers and they are! And worse, some who don't want to be mothers but find themselves pregnant. I think Amanda is right, that God basically looks down and picks the desperate mommy wannabes! LOL!

But you can take charge of your life! Get another dr. Do lots of research. Stay positive and read up. Change your diet. Change your lifestyle. Do an affirmation wall, filled with pictures of mommies with healthy babies. Believe.

    Big hugs
    Sofia

My advice would be to take a deep breath, and start to build a good plan, starting with becoming well educated about what pcos is and isn't.

It isn't something that means that your dreams of motherhood are out the window...that's a myth.

There are many things you can do to improve your health and your chances of pregnancy. Take a look around the boards at the stickies at the top of the forums. There is LOTS of research-based information that you should read and discuss with your doctor.

    I'll get you started..

I have wanted a family as long as I could even remember. Im still very young but I want to start out young. I am only 22 DH and I have been married for 2 years. We have been together for 10. All of our lives lol! I have PCOS, Hypothyroidism, High Cholorastal(SP) and never ever have afs only 1 or 2 a year. I am in process of trying herbs as we speak. Like you said adoption is so expensive, and even for me going to an RE is way out of my price range. I do have health insurance but it does not cover a RE. Which sucks. My doctor wants to do all these tests on me and so on, and I already know what the problem is. IM NOT OVULATINGGG!!!!! I never have AFS so therefore thats my answer. LOL sorry im ranting on your rant. I just get a little carried away. I really really wanna baby fast. So dont give up, it iwll happen, I think its just all about a waiting game =(

i feel the same way...or at least very similar, but I think you have to keep hope and faith. I'm not one to follow the whole "everything happens for a reason" mentality, because, quite frankly, I think it's a load of crap...
I think that adoption is a great opportunity. You have the chance to take a child's life and completely turn it around. What can be more rewarding. probably not exactly what you want to hear.
know this: you are not alone. sometimes those words can make the difference when you feel at your absolute lowest.

do yourself a favor and find a new doctor, but you also have to do your research and be informed, find one that will work with you. I was told the same thing, and after a lot of crying and thinking it wouldn't happen, I did find a new doctor that would work with me, and 2 babies later, here I am. Just know what you want and work on it, but don't let anyone "crush your dreams". Good luck

Texichere, I know it seems hopeless when you want to have a baby and are told you can't. I had two doctors tell me I shouldn't waste my time, that I should just adopt. I then did some research and found a doctor who has a special interest in PCOS and is working with me to help my DH and I achieve more children. Call around to clinics and ask about their doctors. Don't just pick one because he or she's convenient or close to home. If you really want a baby or 4, you will have one. Good luck.

Just to give you all some hope, here's my story.

When I was 18 I was diagnosed with PCOS and endometriosis. I was told I would never be able to conceive. I was devastated. I had two other doctors tell me the same thing. When I was in my late 20's I was told I might be able to conceive but I would not carry to term. After dh and I were married I saw yet another doctor who ran all kinds of tests on me and dh. He said he had done all he could do and that I needed to see a RE. Dh's insurance doesn't cover any infertility treatments and we couldn't afford it. We are both Christians so we decided to leave it in God's hands and we had our friends and family praying for us. I lost a lot of weight and in December 2006 I conceived Hannah. She was delivered at 38 weeks. In April 2008 I was shocked to discover that I was once again pregnant. Mary was delivered at 39 weeks.

Don't ever give up hope. If you have a dream do everything possible to fulfill that dream. There are many wonderful RE's who can help you achieve your dream of having a family. I wish you the best of luck.
