Default Thin Cysters Who Are TTC!

I decided to start this thread to see how many thin cysters out there are ttc'ing and would like to hear some stories about what you are trying or what has been successful for you to get that bfp! I am 5'9 and weigh 145. I am not IR. I have irregular period (usually don't have one at all without bcp or prometrium), the pearl-like cysts and I am annovulatory. You can see in my siggy below for the meds I have tried in the past! I am currently trying femara this round (still waiting...) so let's hear it girls!

Hi Grace! Love the idea for the thread, a little company in this mess would be nice I am 5'7", 125 lbs, and have been ttc since January. Completely anovulatory, no period since stopping bcp in December '08. Have been on low-GI diet and DCI for about 2 and a half months, and started Met about a month ago at 1000 mg. Nothing seems to have helped so far... Who else is out there with us?

Hey Denverdani, nice to meet you!! I'm not sure what's out there, but I know there is something that has to work for us! I took Metformin (2000mg.) for a little over 2 years and tried clomid up to 150mg. and still no O! I'm not sure i have ever ovulated. I just started the Metformin at the beginning of the month & am up to 1500mg. and also trying femara (cd3-7) this month and still waiting to see. I am currently on cd22. I did have some spotting on cd12 which was strange so hoping maybe that was a sign of o'ing. I am having some crazy symptoms, but think maybe it's just the Metformin!! I know that we will get that bfp, just not sure how yet! Can't wait to hear other stories and see what maybe is working for others!

Hi ladies! I'm not as thin as you both, but I don't really consider myself overweight either. I'm 27yrs, 5'6" 140lbs. We just started ttc 4 months ago and I was just started on Met about a week ago. Obviously no luck yet and to be honest I'm not real optimistic. This is my first post in the boards... I came in here looking for some success stories and some advice!

Hey draba321 - welcome the boards. I have been on here since 2002. I started browsing here just to find out more about PCOS, then we started ttc'ing soon after that and decided to take a break at the end of 2004 after being told IVF was my only option. We just went for a 2nd opinion on Aug. 13 and I'm back on Metformin and we are giving femara a try! My RE thinks injections/IUI will work for us, but right not i'm waiting to see how the femara goes. If the femara doesn't work for us, I will be going in for the HSG test to check my tubes, then we will go back in to discuss the injections/iui to see if i'm ready for that!! Don't give up, there are so many options out there. Of course we have no insurance coverage and are all self-pay so we take things slow and go from one treatment to the next as we can afford it! This is one reason we took such a long break. Actually now i'm glad we did, as our marriage is so much stronger now and I know i'm ready for whatever comes my way! Best of luck to you, and look forward to getting to know you!

Hey ladies... I am just beginning the TTC route. I'm 5'2", 115 lbs, annovulatory... stopped the pill in November, got a period in January and nothing since. I've so far done all the "natural" stuff - acupuncture, homeopathics, and nothing!! Very upsetting when your naturopath tells you it is "highly unusal" that it wouldn't have worked for me by now and that I am the first person it has not worked for . Makes me feel really discouraged about other stuff and whether it will work. I am going to see an ob/gyn in 2 weeks after waiting to get in for 9 months and we'll see what his suggestion is! I'm assuming clomid is where I'll start... fingers crossed...

    Hi Ladies!

I'm TTC #1! I've never been pregnant. I used to only get my period twice a year or so. I dont know how often I can get it on my own now since I've been on meds for the past couple months.

I've always had normal body weight except for a period of 3 years where I just ballooned 30 lbs. I've since lost 20 lbs of it so I'm almost back to what I used to weigh. I have some facial hair, but little enough to just pluck out.

My doctor wants to start me on metformin to see if that helps, even though clomid has been working for me. Anyone else taking metformin? Does that help?

I've also been following a strict no refined sugar, no starch (bread, rice, noodles, potatoes, etc) diet. That has helped me to drop my recently gained weight.

Hey girls! I am also TTC #1. I'm 5'3" and 148 lbs, so not exactly skinny, just average. DH and I have been TTC for almost a year and I was dx'd in May. I knew something was up when I went off the BCPs, gained ten pounds, cycles were 60+ days and I felt awful. Lo and behold, it was PCOS. I worked my way up to metformin 1700mg and started watching what I eat. I have since lost the weight I gained and my cycles are down to 38 days and regular (for the first time in my life!). I know I've ovulated too. Hopefully it's just a matter of time.

schmoops - Hey, nice to meet you! I haven't tried any of the natural stuff, but if I were you I wouldn't get discouraged! There are plenty of things to try and I'm sure one of those things will work for you!

kapuakea - Hello, glad you joined us! I also very rarely have af without help from bcp or prometrium. I started Metformin and took 2000mg. for 2 years but still needed prometrium for af. I have just now started Metformin again after 4+ years, working my way up to 1500mg. (and man I feel awful, no s/e the first round so not sure what's going on) Maybe it's gonna work this time, i'll keep you posted! There are a lot of people who benefit from Metformin and you may just be one of them! Good luck!

LivebyGrace - That's awesome that the Metformin has got your cyles more regular and if you're o'ing that's even better. Best of luck to you and hope you get that bfp very soon

    Also see here: http://www.soulcysters.net/thin-cyst...t-45-a-287461/

Maybe ask down in the pregnancy board and/or the mommy boards. I'm sure some thin cysters there can share what has worked for them.
Hey, SoulCysters! Need to eat more veggies, but can't find recipes??

Hi all, glad to see you here! LivebyGrace, you asked about the Met, I have been on 1000 mg for a bit now, and I still feel like... well, awful. I can see how people lose weight on it, since I'm nauseous all the time, which increases when I need to eat, rather than feeling actually "hungry". That'll take the enjoyment right out of food, right?
Anyway, I have a question (possibly TMI, sorry) for all of you. Are you temping and charting to check for O, or doing OPKs? I've noticed EWCM a couple of times and gotten excited, only to read that it's possible to have it anytime with PCOS.

I am not charting but I am doing a saliva opk, but i have just gotten it, so waiting to see how it works. I am too obsessive over the charting thing and would drive myself crazy. I tried to chart for a while, but it was never accurate for me, so just gave up! I had some pinkish cm around cd12 and thought that might be a sign of o'ing, still waiting to see if it was!!

by cd12, do you mean after prometrium? I haven't had AF in ages, but I've had the EWCM a couple of random times. Also last night I had some odd pains, like really really mild menstrual cramps but off to one side. Does that sound familiar to anyone? I'm not sure what to think, if it might be O, or AF is finally on the way, or what...

Hey ladies! Can i jump on board?

I'm currently in my 2ww and hoping that a Met & Femara cocktail do it for me!
Met has cleared up my skin and my ovaries....So I'm currently calling it my miracle drug. Kinda makes me wonder if my ovaries just had acne too! lol!

I'm with LivebyGrace....not fat, not skinny, just right. But I have lost a few lbs thanks to the Met I think. But I've also cut out the bad carbs and upped the protein. So I guess that might have something to do with it too.
I've done clomid and femara and injectables all before Met all with BFNs....Surgery...and back to Femara.
I had two big ole follies this month! So I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
