Thread: VERY frequent urination

  1. #1

    Default VERY frequent urination

Okay, so I usually go every 1.5 hours, but sometimes (especially when i'm trying to go to sleep) i have to go like 3 times in an hour. sometimes i go, wait 15 minutes, then have to go again.

could this have something to do with my insulin? or is it just the fact that i drink a lot of water?

ive been going through this too!!....i usually have to go every couple of hours, but for the past like month or so ive had to go really often. Especially at night, before bed i do the same thing as you, and during the night i usually wake up at least once or twice to go pee also. its super weird cuz i dont even drink that much....
im only on BC so i have no idea why its doing this, just figured it was another random symptom of pcos or something.
let me know if you find anything out

I've read that frequent urination can be sign of pre-diabetes or alternatively of pregnancy. Have you considered the possibility of either?

    Other symptoms of diabetes include:

frequent urination, with large volumes of urine,
    excessive thirst
    hunger
    weight loss
    fatigue
    blurry vision
    odd aches and pains
    dry mouth
    dry or itchy skin
    vaginal yeast infections
poor healing of cuts and scrapes, or
    excessive or unusual infections.

I'm concerned over the diabetes risk myself since I have insulin resistance

I have been having horrible frequent urination too...at first I DID think I was pregnant (I'm not..which is good because I'm not TTC!) I was having to go so much that I would literally almost have an accident if I didn't go RIGHT then (sorry TMI). I realized that it was my diabetes (I was already diagnosed as type II) after tracking my blood sugars for a few days.

I was reading something in a magazine about women and frequent urination and it said to actually not go when you feel the urge...I guess your bladder gets used to being emptied immediately, so it advised to wait at least an hour before bathroom breaks, then gradually increase time.

I have the same problem, I've worn a path in the carpet to the loo lol.
My gyno said this is related to PCOS if you're ovaries are really enlarged, kinda makes sense huh.

I have the same issue and the insulin resistance so wondering if that is related because frequent having to go is also related to diabetes.

I ALWAYS have to go to the bathroom. I find myself not drinking enough due to the fact that when I do drink water in 10 minutes I am right in the bathroom. Will my body get used to it if I drink more?

a cyster I work with has this problem. she had an ultrasound recently and the dr told her it was because she has so many cysts on one of her ovaries that it is sitting on her bladder.

Thank god I found this post! I have been having the same problem, but when I use the restroom only a little bit comes out. It is VERY strange. I am going to get my first ultrasound tomorrow to check my ovaries out, I will be asking them this question!

I've had this problem for the last seven years...It started after having a laporoscopy/endoscopy/D&C...I had some polyps removed during the surgery...when I first went to the gyn about pain in my side, he felt a cyst on my ovary, but a week later it was gone *sigh*...but, after the surgery, I suddenly had to pee all of the time...and I notice that it's worse when I think there's a chance I may be having sex...I definitely don't want to lose control of my bladder during that! For example, my bf and I will go to bed and start touching/rubbing a little and then BAM, I have to pee...5 minutes later, I have to pee again...it's really annoying...anyone else have it worse when they're aroused?

Ugh, I have this too. It is affecting my sleep. I have been drinking lots of water lately too but I've always had this problem. I can go during the day though without going to the bathroom for a long time, but for some reason I cannot sleep if I have to go even a little bit. I have been tested for diabetes and all my tests were perfect. I actually have a problem with low blood sugar usually. But lately I have been trying not to drink anything at least 2 hours before bed except that I take a lot of pills then and have a big gulp of water. I don't know what else to do except resign myself to the fact that I will be up at least once or twice in the night. It's so annoying!

Hi everyone... I am always relieved when I come on this site to find others are experiencing the same things and I'm not going crazy. I also feel like I have to urinate alot... but with me it comes and goes... I may have it for a couple days and then it's gone for two weeks. And sometimes it does seem like I'm urinating more than I have drank... which in this case, worries me that I may be diabetic, but it doesn't happen like that all the time. I am confused and when it happens it is always just another weight on my shoulders to try and figure out what is wrong with me. My doctors always give me things for overactive bladder which do help sometimes, but maybe it is just an effect of PCOS as I suspected all along. Right now I am trying to train my bladder to not want to go when I know I just did an hour ago... but it is frustrating. But thanks for sharing your experiences too and its good to know i am not alone...
