Thread: Provera - How long does it take for you to get AF after last pill?

P.S. provera was origionally used as a pregnancy test back in the day and if you got your AF you were in the clear and if you didnt, you were prego. That wasnt the case with me but it is true for some . you should take a HPT after 2 weeks of no AF just to be sure

I finished a 10 day course on the 6th. Still waiting here, I'm thinking Thursday for AF as that is how my body reacted to BC pills last time I was on them. If nothing has showed by 2 weeks definatly take the HPT.

I took 5 pills and I got AF 9 days after my last pill. It is my first AF in 13 months. VERY HEAVY!! It was brown and light the first day and a half but now super heavy!

Did your AF show? I'm still waiting here *sigh* I'm on day 9 here and am starting to get worried as I don't feel like AF is coming. I feel a bit odd down there and have a bit more CM but no cramps, nothing... Thankfully for a doctor appointment on Wednesday if nothing continues to show...

    faithneverfailing,
I experienced the same thing as you did... the first three months I started my period a day or two before finishing my ten days on... however, this month I finished my tenth day on Thursday and still no AF, I called my Dr. and he said not too worry. The way I understood from him was that our bodies process the hormone differently each dose of it... it can make a routine almost the first few times but then again we are talking about OUR bodies that are a little different than the rest and our bodies like to do things their way... don't worry! It will come- he said if it does not come 7-10 days then we will talk further!

Mine came two days after I finished the Provera pills. I had spotting the first day and then light flow after that. My cramps weren't that bad. I don't know if this is normal. I always had light flow on BCP too.

Mine showed on day 10 after finishing. It is pretty light, which is surprising considering it had been over a year.

Yes, cd3 here and still fairly light compared to some I've had when on BCP. I'm hoping that it will be a "normal" AF length, but I'm already ready for it to be over LOL.

How long does your AF last when on provera?

My AF would be 5 days on BC and only heavy the first 3 days but I was a full week on provera. Light the first 2 days and very heavy the last 5.

Well, I'm still light to average, I thought I was going to have crazy heavy AF considering how long it had been. I'm hoping 5-7 days but we will see if it will cooperate on its own. I just hope it quits sooner than later I do not need an never-ending AF which some women get from provera.

Yes I was praying I didn't get one that lasted forever. I was AF free for 13 months so I was afraid my body would try to make it up to me lol I hope it ends soon for you too
