Default how long does it take for cysts to shrink

I had a CD 3 ultrasound and found out I have a cyst on each ovary. This was after what I thought was my first cycle having ovulated.
We've now had to take the month off from medication to allow the cysts to shrink.
Does anyone have any stories as to how long it normally takes for cysts to shrink small enough to allow another medicated cycle. The cysts were 45mm and 22mm on CD 3

I don't know if there is a timeline on cysts. I think it one of those not everybodys the same situations. For me I also had 2 cysts on my first clomid cycle one ovary with a 22mm and the other 38mm. The 22mm one ruptured on it's own and the 38mm took about a week to shrink. Some women are given BC to assist on shrinking the cysts. I was not given any BC and it shrunk on it's own.

I had a 22mm cyst a few months ago that put me on a break. They put me on Aygestin and it was gone in a couple of weeks and I was able to start right back up again.

I'm finishing a month off of TTC with bcp to shrink a cyst. My RE is fairly certain that it will be gone when I go in for baselines sometime in the next 10 days.

I declined the bcp and it only took 2 weeks for the cyst to rupture. My next medicated cycle my cyst ruptured before af showed. You will know when the cyst ruptures unfortunatly.

Not all cysts will rupture. Mine have always just shrunk and gone away. I've never had one rupture. But I had to convince my RE to give me bcp. I don't ovulate on my own at all, so I wanted to make sure my resting cycle was as short as possible.

This is all good information. If I don't get my (much wanted!) BFP this month, my Dr. would like to put me on BCPs for 2 months to try and shrink my cysts. I have several on my right ovary and none on my left. I've never had a cyst burst and I've never had to shrink them... I'm just trying to decide whether or not I want to go the BCP route. If I don't, I would try natural remedies/herbs for a couple of months, get rechecked and then if there isn't a change in the number of cysts, try the BCP.

Sometimes it all seems like a big gamble!

My RE said 2ish weeks. Hope it's that or less! I'm on BCP and my cyst was 57 so it may take longer. Hopefully not, hopefully the BCP will do what everyone claims and it will be gone. My first cyst was 13 days and gone.

A cyst is simply a corpus luteum that doesn't fully dissolve. A lot of times, if you had an extra egg or didn't ovulate, that follicle becomes a cyst. That's the reality for a lot of annovulatory PCOS patients (Me). So taking a steady level of hormones can help to shrink the cyst. I'm taking bcp called "Apri." I googled it when I was first put on it because I've never heard of it. It actually stated that a noncontraceptive use was to diminish the presence of cysts. They just shrink and go away, as has been my situation for 14+ years of having cysts come and go.

I had a huge one that just went away with my next period. I was taken off meds for that month, and was told that hubby and I should be really careful doing anything near that side or else it could rupture. It's different for everyone and every cyst.
