    Default REs in Mass

    Hi everyone!

Sorry if this post should go somewhere else (I still suck at navigating this board). I have Blue Cross Blue Shield New England and I was wondering if anyone knows of any great Reproductive Endocrinologists in Massachusetts. I live in Western Mass, but driving to Boston, if necessary, would be worth it. I drove over an hour to see a regular endo outside of my healthcare system (the closest one to me is 40 mins away and has a terrible reputation), but that was a bust. She was not receptive to any of my concerns at all. I felt like an idiot afterward. Anyway, I would love to drive further for a better experience.

The website for my insurance does not specify if endos specialize in reproductive endocrinology. Any suggestions??

    Thanks in advance ladies!

Hi Nicole... Reproductive Science Center in Lexington MA has affiliations with labs all over Mass & NH, I'm not sure if they take BCBS, but you couild look on their website to find out, I see Dr Anania. So you could limit your visits to the doctors office by seeing a local lab, I hope it works out for you, good luck!

I see Dr Brian Clark at Umass Memorial in Worcester, and I would recommend him to anyone. Not sure how far Worcester is from you?? Good luck! I also go to RSC for IVF and love it there!

I have the same insurance as you do and I see Dr. Joseph Hill who works in both Portsmouth, NH (where I live) and in Reading, MA and I'm pretty sure he works in there other offices which are located in Bedford, NH Westborough,MA Dedham, MA and Danvers,MA. Here is a link to their site. http://www.fertilitycenter.com/

I'm about to start my first IVF cycle with him in December-January. So far I've found him to be fast paced (he's to the point which I appreciate and got my testing done and out of the way very quickly) He is very positive and hopeful for a great outcome and answers all of my questions. Good luck with your search!

I see Dr. Robert Weiss w/ FCNE (like NHcyster!) but I've also seen Dr. Hill & liked him as well. Did you try searching under the "specialties" & then "reproductive endocrinology"? My ins (Aetna) does that & not under the regular drs or OB's.

Hi Traci- That's too funny! How long have you been going to FCNE for? Any words to share about your experience with them?
My Sister in law went there when she was trying to get pregnant two years ago. She did IUI's with no luck, moved onto her first ivf, had the cycle canceled b/c she wasn't responding well to meds. They told her to take a month off to regroup and she got pregnant in her "time off". She enjoyed working with them but didn't actually get pregnant from treatment (unless the meds she was on pushed her in the right direction). My OBGYN sent me to FCNE to see Dr. Hill after three failed rounds of clomid. Baby dust to you!

I've been seeing Dr. Weiss for about 8 months but have only done 1 cycle. I saw Dr. Weiss about 9 years ago even before he was w/ them when he had his own office @ Boston Medical Center. I did Clomid w/ him but then we moved to TX. 9 yrs later we're back here. I searched Dr. Weiss b/c he was great when I saw him before (dx'd me w/ PCOS as well!) & he was w/ FCNE. I saw Dr. Hill b/c he actually specializes in RPL so he consulted. He's great & very straight forward! They're very conservative which is better than my TX RE b/c they let me trigger w/ WAY too many follies (I was pg 4 x's: quads, twice w/ twins, & a single). I've done 1 cycle but it got cancelled for too many follies (10+ all @ 10mm) growing @ the same time so I would have overstimmed & been cancelled anyway. We're starting IVF w/ them in Feb/March.

    Good Luck to you!!

Traci- So sorry to hear about your losses. Keep your spirits high, it WILL happen for you! Congrats on your daughter, what a blessing!
I agree that they are more conservative, that's part of the reason I liked Dr. Hill so much. I'm quite nervous about overstimm..so glad to hear they've been conservative with you in that dept as well. I just got approved (today!) for one cycle of IVF (apparently my insurance will only approve one cycle at a time..not sure if this a good or bad thing) so I will be starting this month and going into January. Maybe I will see you around the offices sometime! Good luck on your cycle in Feb. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
