    Question Monistat 7 during 2ww??

I was wondering if it is ok to use Monistat 7 while in the 2WW period?? I had a nasty yeast infection that started about 2 or 3 days ago (result of Preseed uuugh!)...so I used Monistat 7. The morning after the first night I used it, I woke up to pink blood and thought AF was about to start early. After that...no blood, so I used it again this morning and when I wiped a little later, there was a little dark red blood (look like it was old CM tinted in red?) Could I be hurting my chances of pregnancy by using Monistat 7 or does it hurt more to avoid treating the yeast infection???? Any input?

I'm going to say it is safe to use...because when I was around 19 weeks I got a yeast infection and my OB said to try monistat 7 first before he would prescribe something.

*Edited to add, he was very clear that it should only be the cream and not the pills. I used the cream for a week and it cleared right up. No complications from it at all.

Thanks! Im using the cream as well. I just couldnt stand to wait until the 2ww was over. I had to start treating. I have recurrent yi's and they can get baaaad if left untreated.

I haven't used it then but it's safe. I have known of women to use it in pregnancy. You have to weigh the benefits against the risks and a yeast infection can be AGONIZING.

FWIW ... bleeding was at the right time for possible implantation... and I got a raging YI early in my pregnency with my son, didn't know I was pregnant. Also got one with my first m/c. It can be a sign of something hormonal changing... which can mean pregnancy.

Not to get your hopes up TOO high but it might not be the preseed that is to blame.

PG would be great! But I truly believe that even if I am pg...the preseed is still to blame. The first time we used it (before O) I got a slight YI, but decided to use a smaller amount during O this time just increase our chances. I vow to NEVER use it again. My body is very sensitive to products and I just cant use it. Thanks so much for your experiences and information! Hopefully the nurse will call back soon and recommend something.

You could be totally right about it. If the stuff is good for keeping sperm alive it could also be good for feeding yeast...

I hope it cleared up for you!
