Hi Everyone!
I'm new to this website and I think it's great! For the longest time I've been wanting to talk to some people who had PCOS and who could maybe give me some advice.
I was diagnoised when I was 14 (I'm 21 right now) and I was put on the birth control pill for an indefinite amount of time. I really want to get off the pill. I've tried taking myself of it but, of course, I don't get my period and my hormones and insulin go up. I guess I'm really scared about it because I've read and seen stories about women dying from the pill due to bloodclots and stuff. I know that could be a minority of women but if there was something organic that could help me regulate my periods until I start thinking about having children that would be amazing! My doctor says to not worry about my PCOS and to continue taking the pill until I want to pregnant. But I can't help but worry.
I was thinking of taking Dong Quai Root for a few months and see what happens. Does anyone have any experience taking it, or any sort of herbal remedy that can help? Are there side effects? Or, should I just continue with my pill?
Please help!
Carol

Carol, I totally hear you on the pill issue. I would not ever take it again. My hormones don't need more messing with, thank you. I would also check the Alternative Remedies forum like Jennifer suggested OR if you have insulin issues, see if you can give Metformin a try.
My periods started skipping months at some point and ended up going MIA altogether. After I started Met they came back and were regular too from that point onward.
Met rules!

It cleared my brain fog, brought back af, helped me lose weight, made me o' again, and helped me get pregnant. My first Metformin miracle is now 5 years old, my second (surprise one) just turned 2.
