Embarrassing question... is a large clitoris a normal symptom of PCOS????

hey... i always thought that I was just having better sex because I was getting older, but now I think it's related to PCOS. It used to be hard for me to have an orgasm... now I have them QUICK. And I noticed since my T went down, the sex hasn't been AMAZING anymore... it's just like "ehh". I also noticed my clit was more sensitive, but not bigger... since the T went down its just kinda dead...

Mine is 9mm long and 6mm wide. Would it be too inappropriate to post a picture? I'm really freaked out about this...

Quite possible -- testosterone levels vary dramatically. Are your ring fingers longer than your index fingers or are they shorter?

Again, clitoris size varies dramatically. At the size you mention it wouldn't seem to be particularly big. Anything smaller than the size of your thumb would not be considered exceptional.

A picture would always be helpful, because there's more than size comes into the equation.

No need to freak out. A bigger clitoris is more pleasurable and it also seems that most males prefer a girl with as big a clitoris as possible. Enjoy it. And if you choose to post a pic, then I'm sure you'll get plenty of reassurance.

OMG!I thought that I was just weird! I also have a very large clitorus which has always made me very self-conscious, thinking that I was "ugly" down there since I didn't look like the porn women. But, it is also a plus since it makes it easier for my SO to find it.

I cannot BELIEVE that your Dr actually had the nurse MEASURE yours! Maybe it is time to find a new Dr that is a little more sensitive to you! That is why I am so glad that I have a female Dr, she is very in-tune with women's issues and would NEVER had disrespected me like that!

I am so sorry that you have experienced that.... if Iwere you I would give that Dr a piece of my mine (and I wouldn't be nice about it) AND I would find another Dr! HOW INSENSITIVE!

I have been looking for pictures of something that looks like my vagina FOREVER but haven't had any luck. I have absolutely no inner labia, just puffy outer labia.. I also have absolutely NO clitoral hood whatsoever.. it is so weird. I went to go get my clitoral hood pierced and was so embarrassed when they said I didn't "have the anatomy" for it.. the piercer and his male trainee (while my dh was there as well) drew me a picture of my vagina to show me! LOL. Well I have never had any complaints about the look of my vagina, and all men that I have slept with, with the exception of one said it was the prettiest one they've seen, but I can't find anything like mine! I kinda want to post a picture too because its so weird and I want to know if it is even slightly normal.

Having a large clitoris doesn't make you a woman ugly -- different from the average, granted, but not ugly.

Surely it was the sensible thing to do, to measure it when he noticed it seemed larger than normal? If the doctor didn't measure it, how would there be any evidence that it was growing, if on subsequent examination either he or another doctor noticed what might be a potential further enlargement? Medical notes record things which are out of the ordinary. Once the note was there that for that particular patient the size of the clitoris was unusual and had been noted, if it stayed that size, then clearly subsequent doctors could know that for that patient it was the normal size for her and not a matter for further comment.

There's a tremendous variety of vaginal configurations. As you've just pointed out, it's sad that women worry because they've never seen one just like their own -- but that's probably because relatively few of those which are a little bit different from the most common patterns are published.

If you put up a pic of yours, you may well find that others will find it's quite like theirs. It might be the easiest way of finding out if it is a common pattern or not.

Can you pull back the hood off it at all, or is the hood firmly stuck to the glans?

Many women don't even realize that the hood can normally be pulled right back to expose the glans.

That's good to hear that I am not the only one. It is really odd cuz outer labia seem to be very common in most women, big and small.. but mine are just not there. My DH says he has seen when I have a clitoral hood, but (yes TMI coming up...) I am almost always aroused! It seems like my clit is always hard! Wow, an inch?! That is impressive personally, I don't think big clits are unattractive at all.. and a lot of men like them.

I once heard there are more varieties of vagina shapes and sizes then there is variance in a penis, which is pretty incredible. It is weird, because I have looked at other places besides porn pictures and haven't found one like my own. I tried to look at one of the female body awareness sites and no luck there.

It's easy enough: you have already made a posting here, so you know how to do that. Above the space where you enter the text there are two rows of icons and towards the right hand end of the lower row there's a square icon which is yellow in color. Make the cursor hover over that and you'll see it says "Insert Image"; click on that icon and it'll ask you to enter where the pic you want to insert is.

It will be interesting to find out whether others of us are similar.

That's up to the board owners. There have certainly been such pix in the past and several cysters have posted pictures of their beard growth.

I don't think that you can see the pictures unless you're actually logged in, anyway and I hardly think that a picture of a very limited area is all that dramatic.

My own rule is that I don't release pix if my name is attached to them, though if someone's using only part of their name or using a screen name I think it's rather a different matter.

There are plenty of free sites one can post any pix on, anyway, and just use a reference to link people to it.

Mine is also really large. It's probably the between the "above average" and "large" pics on that site. My nipples are huge though, about the size of unused pencil eraser high and 2 wide. I also have uneven inner lips.
