Question Anything else I can do

I was diagnosed with PCOS about 6months ago and all my doctor did was put me on birth control. I was wondering if there was anything else I could do. I have already started to lose weight with weight watchers. I have lost about 20lbs. I have tons of questions about trying to conceive, what are my first steps?

    thanks

    hi-
well if you want to begin trying to conceive, i would talk to your dr about going off the bcp. what i did was just that and after 3 reg cycles, some people dont even wait that long, i started clomid last month, at 50mg. i chose clomid bc it has such a great success rate and its just a pill to take so its pretty easy. i took it cycle days 3-7 last month. this month i'm taking it cd5-9. if you have any other questions feel free to ask. also, btw, if u posted this same message on the trying to conceive board, you would have gotten a lot of responses only because the medications board isnt visited as often by most. good luck hun!

You cannot be in the presence of a profoundly vaccine damaged child and not know that child could be your own. And you cannot try to comfort a mother who has just buried a baby who has died from a vaccine or a disease and not know that you could be the one standing over the grave. When it happens to your child, the risks are 100 percent.

    Default hi

Well first you'll have to let your doctor know that you want to try to concieve and he/she will tell you how to proceed, whether it's clomid or clomid and met or some other method.

By the way i would suggest finding a doctor who who are comfortable with and can ask and tell anything it really helps in ttc and dealing with pcos.

    Hi Shauna,
I think you are on the right track. It's good to see that getting your health in order is a priority to you. I would recommend that you keep up with the weight loss and go off the bcp. Ask your doc first of course, and then see if he/she will monitor your cycles to see if you are ovulating. Tons of studies have shown that women who have pcos often start spontaneous ovulation when they lose even 5%-10% of thier body weight. I would suggest that you try this and if no O, look into metformin or clomid, whatever your doc thinks is best.
    Good luck.
