Hello,

I'm new here... I actually posted here AGES ago under a different name (can't remember!)... I'm Karen, 34, and was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 25.

I'm also a mother thru adoption to Allen, a beautiful 6 month old who we brought home with us at 2 days old. We were blessed to be matched with his birthmother 3+ months prior to the birth, and were present when Allen made his way into the world. We have a semi-open adoption with Allen's bmom, with pictures and letters.

Allen has been such a blessing to our life -- if I can answer any questions about adoption (we adopted independently thru a facilitator, Babies R Blessings, in California) -- I'm more than happy to help... Adoption is a wonderful way to create a family -- just can't imagine life without our beautiful son

Hi Karen,

So nice to meet you. He is so cute. A precious little baby. We are in the process of adopting Des. She's been with us since the moment she was born and placed in my arms, but our adoption isn't final yet. The BM lived with us a month prior to the birth and then we flew her home 5 days after Des was born. We have a semi open adoption also with the BM. It's been really hard because she has been calling here a lot and asking silly questions (silly to me) and i've sent her pictures and things when I can. It's hard on me at times and i've longed to talk to someone else that is going thru a open adoption. I'm glad you posted. Hi!

Your son is so cute! Welcome to the adoption boards. My situation is very similar to yours. We adopted our daughter (Erin) who is one year old now. We met the birthmother and was there for the birth also. What an amazing experience--wasn't it?!?

It is nice to talk to others going through the same things that we are. Feel free to private message me if you have any questions or ever want to talk.
