Question what to expect from yasmin???

well I will soon feel like a walking pharmacy, my dr has put me back on glucophage, I already am on the levothyroid, just got another prescrip for migraines, and now I am waiting for A/F to arrive so I can start Yasmin, so what should I expect??? I have been on the pill before but only for a short period of time and never on one that is supposed to be for PCOS, so whats in store for me?? and why is this a highly reccomended BCP for pcos??? thanks!!

I'm also on Yasmin because it is suposed to be better for PCOS symptoms. I havent noticed anything different from other BCP's and i've been on Yasmin for a couple years now. My Dr said it should reduce excess unwanted hair, but I havent really noticed any difference. I also asked about being on Spiro (?) for the hair problem, but she told me that as Yasmin is absorbed into the system, some of it converts into Spiro and therefore it should help some and I shouldnt need Spiro. I've never seen anyone else address this issue, but thought I'd let you know about the Yasmin.

I'm also from Michigan and find it hard to find a good Gyn. You'd think we lived in the dark ages and no one knows anything.

I've been on Yasmin since December and I've noticed that it has helped clear up my skin and control the hair problem a little bit (on face and arms). However, I still have thinning hair on my head. I have also noticed less cramping at the time of my period, too. I'm still not sure I'm sold on it since I don't feel.. great... on it but we'll see. You just have to experiment until you find the right hormone combination.

I've been on Yasmin for two months now. I really like the results so far. I'm not sure it's so great on my mood and sex drive but I'm on an antidepressant that may balance those effects a bit.

I've been losing weight slowly but steadily since I started Yasmin, even on the weeks before and during my period! I felt really bloated one day but I weighed myself and was down a pound!! I'm drinking TONS of water to make sure not to get dehydrated and to help the diuertic (sp) effects. My acne has been nearly non-existent but I'm not sure about the hair growth just yet.

    Hope this helps!
