Thread: Muslim cysters

    Default Muslim cysters

    Hi all

I'd be interested to get in touch with any muslim cysters to find out how islam has helped them in their battle with PCOS.

I myself feel that my faith in Allah gives me hope for better things in the future, both in this life and hereafter.

    Salaam,

I am a Muslim cyster who was diagnosed with PCOS. I know that Allah has decreed this syndrome for me and I am trying to make the best of it!
I had a miscarriage in March, but my belief helped me get through it all ... in fact both my diagnosis and m/c opened a whole new world to me ... I started reading a lot on alternative healing and even started to study "Islamic Healing" in May.

I admit that sometimes I really get frustrated with that whole PCOS thing, but I always try to remember that this life is just temporary and that Allah never puts a burden on us that we are not able to handle. Maybe PCOS is our test for this world ...

... and Allah knows best ~

I am an Ismaili Muslim cyster and DH and I are TTC. Inshallah we will be blessed with a little one. I find I have turned to prayer more now than ever. Whenever I feel anxious or overwhelmed, I say a prayer in my head and it fills me with a wonderful peaceful feeling.

    M,

I don't take the Islamic Healing Course to get ideas for treating the symptoms of PCOS ... I am just taking it out of general interest ....

It is a 2-years-course which specializes in alternative remedies (as mentioned in the Qu'ran and Sunnah). It teaches you about the benefits of fasting, why we are not allowed to eat pork, the healing powers of honey, etc.
It also talks about other healing methods used by Arabs such as colour healing, reflexology, herbalism, etc.

    hi

that sounds really interesting. I can remember when i was younger, my mother always gave me honey whenever I had a sore throat or chest infection. don't know if it worked, but it tasted nicer than any of the prescribed drugs!

Is it an online course. I'm a medical student, but at med school they don't really teach us about alternative remedies, etc. Sometimes, the drugs that we've been taught to use do more harm than good, so i'd be interested to learn more about herbal medicine.

    hi bookworms,

sorry for not replying earlier ... I was away from the boards for some time ~

as I already said to M_19 before ...

"I don't take the Islamic Healing Course to get ideas for treating the symptoms of PCOS ... I am just taking it out of general interest ...."

all the knowledge I have gained for treating PCOS naturally comes from doing lots of research on the net as well as from some books ....

feel free to ask, if you wanna know more

    Take care ~

    Hi Shaima,

Sorry, my question didn't come out the way I wanted it to
I've been talking to my mother and reading a lot about the healing and calming properties of meditation etc, things that help you for all kinds of things, anti-stress, general well-being etc. These things can also go a long way to help ease symptoms of PCOS even though they're not specifically related..

Post As Salaamu Alakium warahmatulahi wabarakatuhu

As Salaamu Alakium "cysters" I am a Muslim sister and I just wanted to add that having PCOS has taught me alot about really relying on Allah (SWT) and being patient. I trust that Allah has placed this in our lives and in some way it may be a benefit to us in the next life Allahu Alim ( Allah knows best). Please feel free to contact me InshaAllah. May Allah bless you all with what you desire in this and the next life and by the way we are almost approaching Rahmadhan I am also interested in any low carb recipes (if any of you are low carbing) that you may enjoy. Assalaamu alaykum cysters,

I'm just bumping up this thread to see if any of you are still around. If so, how is everything going for you? My husband and I are TTC for about a year now and I'm going a little batty. Hope you're all doing well inshaAllah!
