    Welcome to SC's Peldar.
Did you see Dr. Laredo through the PCOS clinic? I don't remember having to deal with any interns.

    Default Dr. Laredo

Not through the clinic. I guess the interns are really doctors in training. Dr. Laredo usually explains things to them by using me as an example. No biggie, they are all really nice. I just made the point because I usually spend more time there than with another specialist and if you are in a rush, it might not be pleasant.

I am going back in mid-August, maybe things have changed.

I also made an appointment with a naturopath on Richmond St West. I'll report back.

Yeah! I got an appointment I think with one of Dr. Laredo's interns - Dr. Blake - at Women's College Hospital. Has anyone been to him? I feel like I can finally get to a doctor who knows something about PCOS!

    redheadedrobyne,
Please use some discretion when posting the not so good doctor's.
I think people should be aware of the good and the bad however we don't want anything to come around and bite us in the butt. I have a long list that I would love to post but because of legal issues I have to refrain from saying what I would like to online. I look forward to reading your list soon.

    Please note:
If any one decides to disagree with an opinion....I hope we can agree to disagree. I don't want any arguments here. I just want people to be informed so if you feel something maybe untrue, post your experience, and allow others to decide if the particular doctor is right for them.
Now with that said....post away ladies

Beetlegirl - I agree it's a little sticky - I think we have to make sure to share our own experiences and not other things we may have heard which may or may not be true...

Are you ok? You're mood says "dead" - just checking in on a fellow cyster.

And redheadedrobyne..your's said "lonely" - hope you're having a better day today.

I am going to be moving from Edmonton to Scarborough in October and was wondering if anyone could refer a doctor in that area or other areas of Toronto? My doctors here are useless and i am hoping that i could find a good doctor over there
Ive looked through the posts but i could have missed an recommended one, with all that is there.

    Good point!
So when posting about experiences, please make sure they are your own.

Thank you for asking, I have been walking around a zombie for the last 2 years, although some days seem to be better, I wish I could just crawl under a rock & stay there...so my dead mood is really nothing new. Maybe someday things will change but for now I will remain dead.

    Red Clover,
The only one that I would recommend would be Dr. Laredo at the PCOS clinic. Although when I saw her, the clinic had many quirks, I think dealing with someone who's speacialty is PCOS, is one of the best things a person can do.

I just want to add an update for ottawa, because the Ottawa Fertility Clinic is no longer at the Parkdale Clinic, it has moved recently!

    Ottawa Fertility Centre
    955 Green Valley Crescent
    Ottawa, ON K2C 3V4
    Telephone: +1 613 686-3378
    Facsimile: +1 613 225-9736
    Email: mail@conceive.ca

This is the new address, I went for my consult with Dr Haebe, and he immediately suspected that I have PCOS so I have done a bunch of testing and am supposed to find out the results on Sept. 11th (of all days).

Just so you know, I am 5'4 and 135Ibs, and have acne and irregular periods. (32-60 days) but I usually ovulate. He thinks metformin will be my miracle drug! He doesnt want me to take clomid or such, because I am going to be a very high risk pregnancy anyways, and twins would be too dangerous.

I was also wondering if i need a doctor to refer me to this clinic?
or if i can make an appointment directly with them?

To see an Gynecologist i needed my doctor to refer me to her and set the appointment up, and if i wanted to change i would have had to gone back to him and get another refferal.
