    Default IUI costs

Can anyone give me prices for IUI in your areas? I read somewhere on this forum that there was a place that did them for just over $100.00 but, I was just on the fertility clinic website and the cost there is $700.00!!!!
So, if you wouldnt mind, I would love to find a place close to me that does it for a bit cheaper.

    TIA,

Well the Regional Fertility & Women's Endocrine Clinic in Edmonton, Alberta (780-491-5609) quoted me $100/month....but it's a long way from where you are I'm afraid!

Best of luck finding a reasonably-priced clinic closer to you! (It's sad that there is such a HUGE difference in cost between provinces and clinics for IUIs!)

In Ireland IUI cost about €500 which isn't bad. IVF is €2,500 and ICSI is €3,000.00

We only pay €70 a month for our drugs (infertility drugs are covered in this!) as we have a Government Drugs Scheme which helps greatly with the costs.

    Default Ontario IUI

here in Ontario, my Dr. charges $150 for the "sperm wash" and we pay 45.00 for my monthy ovulation kits. OHIP actually covers the procedure. if you are using clomid that would be an additional cost also, unless you dont have insurance coverage.

I dont think that is too bad. Good luck in your search!!!!

That's true....you could always check out the famous "West Edmonton Mall" while you're here. It's the largest shopping mall in the world. It has it's own amusement park (with the world's largest indoor loop roller coaster), waterpark, ice rink, submarine rides, dolphine shows, etc. It even has it's own hotel with theme rooms with jacuzzis (arabian rooms, roman rooms, polynesian rooms, etc). Most of us who live in Edmonton take it for granted, myself included, because...well....we live here and can go there anytime. But with all my out of province visitors (relatives), it's been a big hit!

Funny you should say that Belle. We went to Edmonton for a holiday when I was about 10. If I recall correctly, they have a fountain (possibley several) in the mall. Anyways, I, for whatever reason, I think I was trying to get money out of one of these fountains, fell in. Yes, thats right, I fell ALL the way in, right in the middle of the mall! My parents were so embarassed lol.

So, I'm a lil confused. The $700 here includes hyperstimulation. What is that? Isnt it just the use of clomid or injectables? If so, couldnt I do that myself?
Heres the link if it helps:

    Hi Chancy,

I know I'm a late poster on this one, and my situation is a bit different than yours, but this is what I pay at the Regional Fertility & Women's Endocrine Clinic in Edmonton, along with everything else.

    Per month costs:

$100.00 For the insemination procedure (As Belle already said)
$400.00 For the donor sperm sample
    $~40.00 For the Clomid
    $~45.00 For the OPK's
$~70.00 For gas to Edmonton and back (I live 5 hours away)
$~80.00 For hotel room (If we're lucky to get a cheapie)
$150.00 for food and incidentals for 2 days for dh and I.

So, big total is $885.00, if I added correctly. It's like having another mortgage payment.

If you want to know as well, and other cysters from Edmonton will say the same thing, the docs in Edmonton are really good, though it takes about 6 months to get your initial appt.

    Good luck with IUI!

    Cheers,

Yikes Ladybugg! Thats a fair chunk of change! Looks like so far, I am going to go to Alberta for my IUI. I was hoping that cysters from other provinces would respond so that I could get a better idea of the costs throughout the country. Thanks for the replies ladies!
