Self-image daily thread

Challenge may not have been the right word......I was thinking of something we do on a daily basis, like with this thread (even though I know, with all our busy lives, we can't always be here every day, I know I can't).

Oh heck, instead of making it complicated I'm just going to start the thread, lol.

I am so ready.

I'm being a nice daughter tonight, and going over to my parents home (with DH) and we are going to work on the their landscaping. A few months ago we were over there and put in a bunch of bushes and flowers and what-nots... and tonight we are going to be installing all of the brick surrounds.

It's really sweet of you to help your parents like that Gardening is one of my favorite pasttimes and it's really good exercise as well.

DH and I really enjoy working out in the yard, and we have done about as much as we can in our front... really haven't done a whole lot in back except grow the lushest green grass... which is great for kids to play in. But my parents aren't able to do alot of that stuff themselves. My dad is in a wheelchair, and my mom... well when she is at home the last thing she is interested in doing is working in the yard. So during the spring and summer they inlist our expertise and willingness to work... oh and they bribe us with food !

Thanks Stephanie, we had a great time....she got lots of birthday $$$ from relatives so I took her out to spend it. It's cute, she might be 14 but she still loves her plushies and added to her collection. Her grandmother got her a rather large and gaudy wrist corsage for her birthday, and she blithely wore it into all the stores, despite the fact that it was the kind you would wear to a prom and she was wearing her 'cool' (aka old, faded, and comfortable) shorts and flip-flops. LOL, the self-confidence of teens.....it's priceless!

This weekend was super crazy. Well, as in most groups of girls there is one bad apple. This one girls kept trying to start with everyone else. So we did have a couple of situations. This girls thinks everything is about her and it should be her way or no way. Its an attention thing. I know. I have been trying to lead her in the right way. Her parents truely arent worth a flip (as for leading her and her siblings). Anywho, over all the slumber party was fun for th egirls.

I have been telling fiance that he needs to go to a lawyers but some reason hes not going. IS he really that dumb? I never thought that he was stupid but i wondered Y he woul dnot take more control over. anyways, maybe things will get better. Lets just say i am not going on 4 ever like this.

Steph, that is awesome. I hope they boys come over for a weekend visit. YEAH i am so excited for you guys.

gale, i am going to check out your new thread. I think jthat is a great idea.

Hey Denise, what is it with men... and not getting things done that are REALLY important! And when stuff keeps happening, that they should already have taken care of... they are like "WHAT??" Stupid. I'm glad to hear that the slumber party went pretty well!

Gale, sounds like your daughter is a real trooper and even though it was dorky... she loves her enough not to hurt her feelings! That says alot about your daughters character... way to go Mom!!!!

Well, we weren't able to work in my parents yard on Friday because of the rain, but we got up bright at early and started at 8am Saturday morning! To give some perspective... our largest bed in the front of our house has 84 landscaping bricks! We laid 300 bricks for their bed. Plus we worked from 8am til 4pm and it started raining again at 12... but we just kept working... it was still raining at 6pm when we left... yuck! But we got the job done, and it looks great!

Sounds like everyone had a good weekend. Slumber parties, landscaping, and wrist corsages weren't a part of my weekend but I still managed to have a good time also. lol We got to play four games this weekend. One of the games we had this hot umpire who was in my motorcycle class the weekend before. We talked briefly about our class and I think he was actually flirting with me. (Maybe wishful thinking) Anyway, I hit a triple and got to show off a bit in front of him. heehee

Pooppile was supposed to come over to my building for a meeting today and he showed up two hours late. I didn't keep my mouth shut and told him it was rude not to call and tell us he couldn't make it because we sat and waited. It felt good.

Tonight I am going furniture shopping and out to dinner with one of my high school classmates. He's really nice but... I'm not sure how attracted I am to him, if at all.

Our server at work "ate itself up" over the weekend. Not sure what that means exactly but we won't have internet access there for probably the next two weeks! What will I do with my time??? haha Really does suck though.

WE ARE GETTING THE FILES TODAY. We were supposed to get them on Friday, but apparently the other SW felt really bad about it taking so long... that they made 2 copies so we don't have to wait for our sw to review them before we get them!

Work is lame, I feel alright but wiped out. I'm gaining weight which is good and bad...

ok, i have been super stressing. THe move is jsut 2 days away. The truck is half packed most fo our furniture is on it. I am really hoping things turn around after we move. Well they better cause this is my house and the payments have to be made by the first. Esp since i kicked ex out for not making payments on time. We have live off of 800 bucks this month and i spent 200 hundred of that on dsd for her b-day.(100 in presents 40 on a b-day dinner and 60 for her party) Granted i probably should of paid bills with that but for almost a year they have got nothing extra except on christmas and she deserved it. The kids should not suffer b/c of adult stupidity. Anyways fiance says that at the end of next month he is shutting everything down. Als far as i know all the appropriate paperwork show him as a sole owner (cause the other company is going bankrupt and what i hear they are not suppose to be owner in any other company for 2 weeks after a bankruptcy is discharged). So i think legally he can do that. I told him yesterday that i am so sick of all this crap. I was nice about it. As of tuesday we are 8 weeks down on paychecks plus 240 dollars. So ladies if you could please send some good thoughts this way. i really need them, we all need them, I need some luck with finding a job and i hope things do improve.

oh ya, come friday i will not have internet service til July 8th. I am moving up in the world and getting a cable modem. Oh ya we went with cable instead of the sat. dish. I got cable, digital phone service and cable modem and its cheaper all together then i am paying now. whoohoo. on that. I also went to the gym yesterday to burn some frustration off. It was so nice to talk to other girl adults. LOL. going back today and tommoorrow.

My goodness Denise, I sure hope things get better... ((((((money))))))), ((((((good job))))))), ((((((happy thoughts))))))!

The files... oh my... these bio-parents were just very irresponsible, and after reading everything we feel pretty bad for them. Basically they are pretty young, only finished the 10th grade, both from very broken homes, never have jobs, never a stable place to live... and just one bad decision after another! We didn't get pictures, but our SW told us that we should get some at the presentation (when we meet the Foster Mom and the chilren's SW). We are definitely moving forward, they are healthy, loving, and energetic boys who need loving parents... ME!
